I'm sorry Ive just been listening to too much talk radio. Man these callers have such distain for the peacenicks. I wonder what these people would do if there were no protestors?

If you really support the troops wouldnt that entail some sort of action on your part. Volunteer for somthing, conserve gasoline, donate money to the red cross or humanitarian efforts, buy american, buy war bonds. Ummm can you have war bonds without war being declared?

The best way anyone can support the troops, regardless of whether they condone this war or not, is to do exactly as you have suggested. Those who condone the war get worried that the peace demonstrations will be seen by Iraqis, as well as American service persons and that it will deflate morale for our troops. It can be perceived as an embarassment for the country, particularly when the majority of Americans support this action. Regardless, we're there...we're in Iraq. All the peace demonstrations in the country aren't going to change that. So, I think your ideas about community service, etc., are far more practical and constructive than chaining oneself to a building in the name of 'peace'...

For the record I think the press is blowing all this protest nonsense out of proprtion. I swear there were more press at that NYC protest, than actual protestors. If your some out of control pain in the ass protestor youll have 3 cameras chasing you down.

The protests that Ive seen consist of peaceful fowlks holdingup signs on street corners. That and candlelight meetings in the park. Of couse thats too boring for the news.
