Imad Mughniyeh was killed. Syria/Hezbollah blame Israel and Israel denies involvement. He was one of U.S.'s most wanted terrorists. My own suspicion is Lebanese Christians or Druze or other anti Hezbollah Lebanese factions. Walid Jumblatt (Druze) has recently been talking smack.

Good riddance!

In case it's unclear, this was the terrorist most notorious for the 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847 in which Navy diver Robert Stethem was murdured.

In the Navy, he was assigned to the Navy Underwater Construction Team No. 1 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was returning from an assignment in Nea Makri, Greece aboard TWA Flight 847 when it was hijacked by members of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah. They demanded the release of 766 Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

When their demands were not met, Stethem was singled out. The hijackers learned he was a member of the U.S. military. They beat and tortured him. Then, they shot him and dumped his body on the tarmac at the Beirut airport.

It is the third anniversary of the blowing up of al Hariri - a crime the anti-Syrian groups in Lebanon blame on Syria and its supporters.

Coincidence?

Of course that doesn't mean that they didn't have help from other people.
