Well, up until the point where the effect is statistically significant anyway. So, prophetic dreams? Fulfilled in statsig numbers? Evidence? (Damn, there's that pesky e-word again.)

If I say I'll score a 6 with a die and I actually do... am I a prophet?

PS. I did that once, around 5 times in a row: I said a number and the die repeated it, and again, and again... it was quite funny, until I failed :D

It's very good for explaining foretelling, and it also the only correct explanation. Especially when it comes to more simple foretelling. "oh, my sister called my the exact second I thought of her".

Some people just can't grasp the concept of evidence. It not their fault though, probably something missed in education, or in upbringing.

Maybe someone can help me interpreting the dream I had the other night.

Darth Vader was chasing me through the mall. Every store was having a big sale, but I couldn't stop to shop because Darth Vader was chasing me.

1inC--do you think this dream is prophetic?

ps. I really did have this dream this weekend, after having a Star Wars marathon.

It means you have no understanding of the Force. DV would choke you to death from miles away. He wouldn't bother chasing you. And then you'd go to Hell and swim forever in a lake of fire forever.

I, Anders, think that you have watched the new Star Wars DVDs way too many times.
 
Just let me clarify...I do not for a moment think dreams are supernatural in any way whatsoever.

Some context: I have been in a period of depression dealing with, among other things the death of my 18 year old cat and the discovery of a suspicious growth and need for surgery. The anniversary of the ending of my relationship is approaching. I don't think I am over it or him yet. I have been reflecting a great deal on how to let go and rebuild my life. I want to be happy again.

I see the dream as an insight into my own mental state. The symbols, I agree probably chosen from residue of the day and other memories, learning etc are interesting to me because they might reveal some nuances.

For instance, the fair is a symbol of what I miss and yearn for ~ my happy, playful life.

Overall, I think the dream reinforces my desire to let go and move forward. I just want to understand it better.

I hope this makes sense. Sorry if my question seemed silly.
