Sorry, there aren't any closed mines around here. I don't live in mining country!

As for closed minds, I don't think I have one, considering that I'm a true skeptic and have had paranormal experiences. I just don't think that every little thing is caused by a ghost.

While sitting in my computer room, I occasionally hear sounds like glasses clinking or someone knocking on the walls. It never fails to freak me out. However, it is nothing paranormal. It is my sugar gliders in their cage in the room above me. Their jumping around causes the cage to slightly knock against the wall. The wall is hollow and sound travels through it very well.

But - the first few times it happened I thought someone was in the house.

Never considered it to be paranormal. I don't understand how you can go through life so paranoid. Doesn't it get tiring to think that everything is caused by a spirit or ghost?

Well, the ghost angle is already covered, Winston, since it seems to be the only explanation you put any stock in - to tell from what you tend to post, anyway. The rest of us have to mention all those "alternative" explanations because you are so open-minded that you fail to consider any of them.

When I was at camp they told us about "Seaweed Harry" who would try to kill the girls. That night, we heard someone walking across the roof. It scared us half to death. It couldn't have been the counselors throwing rocks onto the roof, could it? It must have been Seaweed Harry!
