Take a deep breath...yes, absolutely the UN should have stepped in and helped work out a democratic solution. The US should have been willing to assist in any way possible. You are either in favor of an Electorial Democracy where ALL of the people get the opportunity to Vote for a leader...
OR
You are in favor of a Militaristic Anarchy, where the people with the guns decide who the leader is...
I mean, why weren't we showing them how to manage and perform a "recall" of President Aristide??? Why did we 'allow' them to let brute force rule the day?
Then again, the violent over-throw of a tyranical government has led to increased independence & freedom for citizens... I guess we should ask the questions of their Electorial System.
