Guns.

...snip...

Can you explain to me why, even though the word "abortion" appears nowhere in the Constitution, the Constitution guarantees a woman's right to have an abortion, while the Second Amendment, which explicitly says people have the right to keep and bear arms, doesn't mean she can actually keep and bear arms?

Because it is cruel?

Guns are great! Everyone, every man, woman and child in the USA should have at least one! There should be plenty of them - no limit! Automatics too. And handguns - lots of handguns! And rifles too! And who needs training?! Stuff that! Davey Crockett needed no licenses or training, but he had plenty of guns and plenty of ammo as he tamed the Kentucky wilderness, so that's good enough for me! And the bad guys can kiss my big fat ass while I blow them away BEFORE they do anything wrong! Better them dead than raping me, heh. And the cops can pick up the pieces later, when I've done their job for them! Heh heh!!!

Oh wait, wait! Sorry, sorry!

I feel so embarrassed - I tried to make a joke out of something that is actually true...

I don't believe in benevolent deities. I do believe in the Constitution, though.

I prefer women to have bare arms rather than having bear arms.

Because chopping off someone's arms is also cruel and unusual punishment.

Despite what may be written in the Constitution, try keeping a supply of BEAR arms around and see what happens. You hear all kinds of things about endangered species and protecting the environment. One would think people would defer to me in regards to rare species of animals, I DO travel with flying reindeer after all, but no, I only get respect at Xmas. Ok, back to the gun control fun.

Should we outlaw them or not?

Yes, we should outlaw them (from our homes), especially if we don't know how to use them, don't know how to handle them safely, don't know how to store them safely or how to keep them out of the hands of children.

Hammers and power tools; same thing! Remember, hammers don't smash people's thumbs - only people who don't know how to work a hammer smash thumbs.

But what if one is untrained in martial arts, has no military experience, and is unarmed, and wants to stop a gun toting terrorist on a plane?

Have the plane's sky marshals shoot him with guns.

and what if they have a grenade in the other hand, with the pin out, that will explode if they release the grip ?
Shoot 'em anyway. I hate terrorists.

Seriously...
  • Are terrorists still highjacking planes with guns and hand grenades? I missed that email.
  • If the cockpit door is locked, and the terrorist does indeed somehow have a gun and a grenade, the proper response is, "Go ahead and blow up the plane. But you're not going to comandeer it. You'll die for nothing."
BTW, I'm not certain a hand grenade would be sufficient to blow up a modern jetliner.

Here it appears as if you were sort or sarcastic in this post.

Soooooo were you just taking a dig at someone's post?

FWIW, this thread has already gotten derailed. The issue was, should guns be outlawed, not should gun-waving, grenade-toting, neurotoxin-vial gumming, terrorists dressed as old ladies wearing lead-lined shawls on airplanes be shot with guns.

That should be a different thread.

I agree ,lets save it for one of Amy Wilson’s or the Pakistani homeopath’s threads.

You're not going to get any enlightened sense of discussion in the United States because there is a significant, intensely vocal minority who will have a conniption fit at the suggestion of regulation, and go off citing a portion of the Second Amendment as if it's on the religious authority of a benevolent deity.

In order to keep you from looking like a silly biggot I will add to your post:

Also there is an even MORE significant, media led, anti gun religion.
