Um. But how old does that make Canada, Australia and New Zealand? Who don't really seem to have this problem.
Wasn't the US Declaration of Independence supposed to be based on the Declaration of Arbroath? Will it take the US 700 years to get over their issues with England? (Last word was deliberate by the way.)

In the United States, and especially in the Hollywood area, "died in his home," is a common euphemism for suicide.

One source lists CoD as, "natural causes," but it's perfectly natural to die with a bullet through your head.
He knew about Alzheimer's, and the effects it has on the victim and the family of the victim. He MAY have decided to take what old British folks used to call, "the Gentleman's Way Out," to get it over and done with.

No true gun activist kills himself with his gun. It gets them lumped in as a statistic for the other side.

That would be my feeling, too, frankly.
On the other hand, here in Indiana, self-inflicted poisoning by solid or liquid substance was the #1 method of attempting suicide, and it's just as natural to die with a belly full of sedatives (tranquilizers and other psychotropic agents were #1 inside the category of self-inflicted poisonings), for instance.
That would be my feeling, too, frankly.
