Gravity Powered Flying Machine?

Or jumping off a cliff, unfortuantely running out of "fuel" is a real pain.

Potential energy? Nah, it's the kinetic energy that flattens you into an unrecognizable puddle when you hit the ground that's a problem.

Reminds me of the "0220", the dirigible that contained a vacuum instead of light gas. This is the airship that Tarzan flew into the hollow Earth in "Tarzan at the Earth's Core" by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

As if he will recover enough energy from wind generators gliding back down to fully charge up his compressed air containers. Sorry!

The ancient Flash Gordon comics used some kind of anti-gravity material. They used to wear backpacks weighted for their body weight to fly around.
