I'm trying to find a specific JREF post using google search with a bunch of key words and "site:forums.randi.org" included. Apparently google doesn't think that I'm a human anymore. Unfortunately, I don't see "hey non-human guy, enter this captcha" I just see the captcha itself. No box for me to enter it, it's just a dead end. I'm using Google Chrome; you think that their own search engine would work on their site.

I have removed the "s" from "https:" and the result is the same. I enter the search, and am presented with a completely blank white page except for a wiggly word at the top left corner.

Any ideas?

Are you behind a proxy ? Are you at work ? If too many people do a search from the same IP google flag it.

Maybe we can help you by doing the search for you ?

No, I'm working from home on my WiFi.

I was looking for a post where someone talked about how much work scientists went through to find the Higgs Boson particle, something about a really long tunnel full of dry cleaning fluid and maybe something about these particles passing through a mile of lead? I believe (could be wrong) that the post was in GS&P, in reply to Limbo or maybe kblood, (also could be wrong) and that the poster was pixymisa or Pixel42.

When I enter just dry cleaning fluid science site:forums.randi.org it's OK. When I add quotations or more words it starts to think I'm a spambot or something.

Well I was able to make the search, but unfortunately it didn't find the post you were looking for. I think you need to try different search terms.

I tried teh search with and without quotes, couldn't get to any capcha screen. Most searches returned this thread as the #1 hit :)

Did find this, tho:

As to the captcha problem, I suspect some problem with your browsers cache, or maybe even a problem in your router. First thing I'd do is reboot the router and clear your cache.

Are you using any script blocking addons on anything like that? I quite often have problems with NoScript on Firefox interfering with captchas.

I think I might have figured it out. On my WiFi, I have an extender, which has a slightly different network name. My computer might have switched from one to the other and done the same rather complex search from slightly different addresses, which made google think it was spammy or something.
