Go To Hell!

Still, I'm told Norway has problems with folks having chronic depression--mainly in winter after the sun sets.
Most Dante-ish thing I saw in Norway was a motor tunnel that entered a mountain and went into a long descending spiral, finally exiting the other side some 40 minutes later. Every so often we passed a side booth with an emergency telephone in it. I've heard that they subsequently opened an even larger tunnel and paid somebody to make entertaining artwork all over the insides of it to keep people from going nuts while driving through it.

Because H-e-l-l doesn't mean "hell" in norwegian, that's "helvete"

Good is g-o-d in Norwegian... I almost considered writing a book entitled "God is good, but only in Norway" But the premise wasn't as good as the title.

*LOL* Your title sounds almost pornographic, but I wouldn't be so quick to write off the premise. Perhaps it could even be a Dantesque sort of thriller, maybe using the tunnel that DrMatt described. :)

Interesting about the name of the town. Does Hell have any meaning in Norwegian? I still wonder what possesses anyone (especially in the U.S.) to name their town Hell?

I got a little claustrophic just reading about it. Maybe the Norwegians could hire Birk to paint the tunnel - it might make everyone pause for some "soul searching" as they descend. ;)
