If that was Radio 4, the follow up Tory, think it may have been Leadsom, said exactly that - that they needed to be 'much more Conservative'... She also said they needed Boris back in 'some position' and should never have got rid of him.

My mistake, it was Andrea Jenkyns...

Wasn't she talking about "getting back to Real Conservatism," which is, of course, to drag the party to the right?

There is a strong rumour going around that Sadiq Khan might have lost to Susan Hall in the London Mayor election, due to low turnout.

I wonder if Laura Kuennsberg has had advance sight of the postal votes...?

Quite illegal, of course, but nothing came of it last time she did. Who remembers the knowing smirk and wink..?

14 years....

I'm driving everyone mad around me - all the complaints* I reply with "14 years..." Pot holes! 14 years NHS waiting times, 14 years GP appointments 14 years... too many immigrants 14 years.....it has got through to a few friends.

*Of course not literally

Probably a Bentley... oh, I see...

@ExplodingHeads on Twitter just now

Remember when we all thought Susan Hall had won the London mayoral election because some 'journalists' were told what to say on WhatsApp? We should remember that.

Yeah all day the story was that low turnout and ULEZ meant there was a chance Khan would lose. Actually votes counted show him gaining in previously Tory areas and getting a larger share of the vote. Its like the ludicrous claim from Sky News last night that the results pointed to a hung parliament...

I'm waiting for Laura K (#ImpartialJournalist #BringBackBoris) to tell us that the results aren't too bad, after all Conservative Central.Office hasn't been burned to the ground and Tory candidates mothers will still speak to them (on the phone, don't come round the neighbours might see) therefore a corner has been turned, everyone can see Tory policy working and absolutely no-one wants a election until the Government is popular again (or hell freezes over).

Look at the majority though!

If he didn't have the Evening Gazette and Northern Echo in his pocket for some reason he wouldn't have done nearly as well.

Quite.

We were commenting yesterday about how badly the local media across the North East serve the local population, and thus local democracy.

Why the buggery bollocks are the Gazette and the Echo so supine and concentrating on looking the other way?

Don't answer: the Echo has always been a Tory rag and the Gazette is only bothered about Boro's latest result, much as the Chronicle only cares about football and celeb gossip, when we have several hooky councils round here.

Important news regarding the London mayoral election; I see Count Binface has a new helmet.

And Khan was reelected over the Con loon.

She was born in London and is British. She might be evil, but she’s British and evil.

Unfortunately for the UK she does*. Though given her parents moved back to Nigeria for most of her childhood and she's moved from country to country for economic reasons, she's still accurately an economic migrant.

*By three years.
