I did read this earlier, and on the surface you could argue that it's reasonable.

The recording completely betrays it. I just listened to it again, and I don't know how anyone could reasonably interpret it as a guy just simply restraining her and protecting himself.

I'm not biased against the guy. I'm aware of how the press has sensationalized and twisted the story (one social commentator originally referred to to the case as a gang rape). I have a particular dislike for mob opinion. I've even discounted his previous behavior that he made public. I think everyone deserves a defense.

That said, I don't know how anyone could interpret that he wasn't intimidating her. His behavior was of a friggin' animal.

Most of the rest is of him trying to stop her getting more stupid & continuously belting & assaulting him for 40 minutes or so

No way was his response in holding her on the ground heavy handed, even saying what he said in the context of what transpired was not over the top.

He spoke harshly but she had drawn blood & hit and abused him for an hour. Then she threw stuff at him and hit him with a metal object.

If you say he is a big strong man & she a poor little girl you are a sexist bigot & that argument wont hold up in court. They are equally responsible adults.

I reiterate if you have only read the transcripts or heard the final 10% of the recording you do not have enough information.

In the long recording you can hear how drunk they both are, how she is the abusive party & he is trying to be polite and calm her down for a very long time. For somebody to listen to 5 or 10 minutes and read some of the transcript then start spouting off is just BS.

Yes the debate in the jury is now aquittal or manslaughter & most probably the majority wanting to aquit. Also if this goes to another trial a fair trial is not possible thanks to the Police & Media frame up.

If I was a juror I would be stuck on aquit unless some substatial evidence is missing from the public knowlege or there is more in the recording that I have not heard but that is unlikely.

A woman has no more right to assault a man than the opposite & a woman is just as capable of killing or maiming a man.

Get over your predjudice. That would be my argument to the jurors seeking a manslaughter charge.

Also I believe the Queensland Police had no choice but to pursue this case vigorously due to the global media frenzy, so at the end of the day it is the sensationalist leftist media that is to blame for totally distorting the facts.

...Tostee has defence counsel: very very good defence counsel by all accounts. What we see or what we hear over the news is really irrelevant, don't you agree? The only important thing is what was presented to the jury, and if the jury didn't hear all of the tape, then that isn't our fault.

But you obviously have access to the tapes. Care to share it here? If not, then please stop complaining that we haven't heard it.

Unfortunately we can't put this woman on trial because she is dead. And she is dead due to the actions of Gable Tostee. If he had not done what he did she would be alive: and instead of Tostee standing on trial it would be Wright. But that won't happen, who is to blame for that?

I don't recall anyone on here saying otherwise. In fact, the only one who seems to be hung up on the sex of the victim is you. I don't know why you can't just admit that he made very bad choices that led to severe consequences for all involved. But then again, we didn't read and listen to all you have so we don't know the golden information that you do so we are uninformed.
