Free *beeep* Speech

Germany does do content censorship, Oliver. Not so much in the area of profanity, like the FCC in the U.S., but particularly with violence in video games. Have you not heard of the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien? The effects of its index produce de facto censorship that goes beyond restriction to minors.

I apologize for the short answer because "my bed is calling":

The examples were meant to point out that there are a lot of restrictions of free speech - also in america. For whatever reasons. So while the Holocaust-Law makes sense here (I explained why), it doesn't mean that countries who have these laws are less democratic or have less free speech. That's a simple fallacy.

Good night. :)

It's not a fallacy to say that countries which ban Holocaust denial or National Socialist political parties are indeed restricting free speech. There are valid, historically grounded reasons why such restrictions on free speech should exist in most of those countries that have them, but they are nonetheless restricting free speech. To say otherwise is absurd.
