Share your "yay, it's time to go back to work after TAM!" stories here.

I had checked my work schedule when I was at my restaraunt with the Luciana-led Stratosphere group. I was scheduled to work Tuesday from 11am to 5pm. I usually don't work days, but, whatever.
Yesterday I dragged my sorry butt out of bed. I was sick and tired and who wants to go back to work after TAM?
I get into work and guess what? They changed the schedule and no one called to tell me. ARRGGGHh!!!
I said, "**** you" twice on my way out the door. Boy, was I pissed. They wouldn't let me work even though I was there becuase they had scheduled me to host that night. And hey, hosts don't make any tips. Great.
I went back home and went back to bed and fought the urge to call in sick.

Bleah.
Stupid work.

At least you can leave work, I'm stuck here because of snow and traffic.

Sorry to hear they screwed up the schedule.

Actually Moe, it was a 'yay it's time to go back to work after TAM!' time. When I got back to my classes, I was juiced up and ready to go. I told the kids where I was and they said, 'You talked to The Amazing Randi again?!' I told them that I also conversed with Joe Nickel whom we refer to in class, and told them about Penn and Teller and Banachek and the other people we discuss in class. And I told them I saw the "Grilled Cheese Sandwich"!!

Our critical thinking/skeptical paranormal unit lasts for 4-5 weeks at the beginning of each year. So they have heard about all these people. Throughout the year we keep the skeptical discussions going when they pop up. Like the grilled cheese leading to a discussion on pariedolia. Just my brief contact with the people they've heard of is quite a treat for them and they feel a connection with what we've studied.

So, even though I know almost all of you feel a little pissy about being away from TAM and back to work, I feel good. Now then doesn't that make it better?

No huh?! OK, it's alright to throw overrippened fruit and vegetables at the screen, I can handle it.

Well, I'm still looking for a job, but I did have an interview at an executive placement agency today and I might have 1-2 interviews set up by Monday. :) I'm still trying to readjust post-TAM and it's not easy; it was too cool of an experience!

Woohoo! Holiday tomorrow, and "strangled" day on Friday!

I have lots of plan for this. Reading, reading, reading! I didn't even remember the Jan. 20th holiday (anniversary of the city), so it was a total surprise to me. Really really cool. :)

I went back to work Tuesday night and it sucked. I was so glad to have a different environment to walk through for a change that my workplace was even more depressing than it normally is after our massive downsizing.

I'm supposed to do three checks of my building, but I could only muster the giveapoopedness to do two.

I miss Vegas...

The playground is very very very cold. The children are sledding, so they are sweating and don't feel it. I actually joined in to keep warm, figuring if I break something the hospital is warmer than the playground.

Larry, you were just happy to be home as you have your roommate back! Did he enjoy his little vacation????

And after all this, where was Li'l Fevre?

He was on the table where we were handing out the T-shirts, meeting and greeting folks. The last I saw of him though he was lurking in Kiless' bag...............he has taste.

OK , the biggest hit picture at work was THE DARN TOASTED CHEESE SANDWICH!!!!!!

That's exactly what I've found too, kitty. I can mention Dawkins, Shermer, Randi, Hitchens, Penn & Teller, etc., but it's always

"You SAW the cheese sandwich??!!!"

Grrrr.

I got in, got my cup of joe, was ready to check the usual (Yahoo news, email, get fuzzy, dilbert, pvponline, msnbc, and of course, jref), and got an email indicating that I had a meeting in 3 minutes.

So, I brought my coffee to the meeting room, found my manager's manager and someone from HR there, and 15 minutes later my fired ass was being escorted out the door.

I'll have to call to make sure my 5 year anniversary gift gets delivered to my home. I want that desk clock/globe combo, dammit. I never know what time it is when I'm gaming.

Wednesday at work was uneventful, but I wasn't feeling well after the plane ride and spent more time reaching for kleenex than working. Told my boss I would attend the meeting today and then decide if it was worth staying given my state.

Thursday got to the 9:00AM meeting. Slept through it. Went home at 11:00. Just woke up again.

Erm... don't go back until Monday......sorry.

Tuesday was very very tough. On Monday my flight got in at 11 p.m. in Calgary. All the way home was very slow going in the freezing rain. AT home we almost had to abandon the van. We couldn't move on the iced over rain slicked roads! We finally nudged the van into some back alleys and rolled around barely ever touching the gas until we got to our back alley. Any traction from the untouched snow on the sides of the back alley. We coasted home. It took hours and hours.

At 3 a.m. I was finally in bed. I called work in the morning, terrified of driving on those roads again. I was watching people slide through stop signs in front of my house. They said to try coming in to work when it was daylight. It was a bit better, and I was only an hour late for work. Oh man, was I tired!! Such a bad headache too.

The next day was better. They are keeping me! Making me a permanent employee! With a raise and benefits. They told me yesterday :) I do more than answering phones, have other responsibilties, and do them well in spite of the constant interuption by the phones. I work for 4 dispatchers and hundreds of employees. I have to be organized! I've done well enough to be kept beyond the probationary period, yay!

Good luck to MLynn on her job search. You do have to let us know how the interviews go now! I'm really hoping you do well and get the job you need.

Ouch! the weather has been a bit roughm, hasn't it. The warm weather is nice, but freezing at night has been messing things up royally. I'm lucky if I make it to my car (in the dark, of course!), in the morning without slipping on some water covered chunk of ice.

Wow, great! Very good news! Congratulations! :)

Thank you Luc :)

Jas, be careful! Yes, it's been crazy, but warmish.

Walter has just sent me some awesome pics. I'll be working on reducing the red eye...and the whacky "orbs", to post a few.

TTYL!

... and here is a few photos, later to be put up in their very own thread... although I don't think I can come near to Moe's fab narrative with him.

Oh no! Claus, what are you doing and why is my Gazza not giving a damn about the abuse??! Bastards!!!

And even worse!! Corruption!! And that's all you're getting of that photo.

And finally the naughty boy attempted to tell me all about what REAL college girls get up to... and here I am innocently reading my 'Guide to Cowboy Bebop' in Moe's gorgeous pants (girl, I still owe you more for those, they are fantastic):
