Fidel Castro on 'Nuclear War'

never been there, eh?

I don't have to. I can read the reports by Freedom House, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty ect. It's you that needs to appeal to anecdote.

Key lesson from the last century: Never, ever listen to communists.

ya...don't want to get confused with the truth.
i've been there and travelled around the island.
i know the truth.

No you don't. You know the commie tune that all commies and their captive populations are expected to march to. The truth is that Cuba is a one-party police state that represses all independent thought by indoctrination and locking up dissidents.

The people I know who have visited Cuba have also had good experiences. I don't think the people you met are necessarily faking their happiness; people can be happy all over the world. But even if we acknowledge Cuba as the best dictatorship in the world, it's still a dictatorship. If I lived there, I'd want to change things for the better. I'd want to do this by writing. If I did that, it's likely they'd lock me up. I wouldn't want to live in a place like that.

That's rich, coming from a ruthless dictator who once brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.

Who was it that coined that immortal term "Useful Idiots"?

I bet his portrait is over Castro's bed. Maybe on the ceiling even.

It's alleged to be Lenin in which case there probably is a portrait of him over Castro's bed. But there's no evidence Lenin actually used the term. It doesn't matter. It's an accurate description of so-called "radicals" and "progressives" that support utterly repressive and reactionary regimes like Cuba's.

Good info. In my naivety I was thinking Stalin. He probably had more use for them though.

the blind ignorance about the realities of life in cuba is amazing in a forum of supposed skeptics.
yet you buy the codswallop fed you by the american press.

the op is about the threat of nuclear war.
does anyone care to address the topic, or do you prefer to continue to spew your nonsense?
