Father Ted

Everyone in my (Catholic) family loved it.

If you like both Father Ted and Black Books - the same writer also wrote The IT Crowd.

Oh man, Black Books is on there too. Another outstanding series!

Steering the thread back on track; I read "Father Ted" had a lot of fans in the clergy, but I wonder if any Catholics got offended by it. I know I probably would, if I was a devout Catholic.

Don't know Black Books. Will soon.

Some people are offended by everything and anything.

I think that most catholics with any kind of a sense of humor would enjoy it, and probably get a lot more of the in-jokes than the rest of us do.

Anyway, I hope they take the chance and watch it if they haven't already.

Also, the much underrated, "Hippies", starring Simon Pegg.

I love Father Ted and Black Books (perhaps even more), do you think The IT Crowd. and Hippies would be worth getting on dvd?

When my wife and I were in Ireland on a bus tour we went though a town which was either where Father Ted was set, or where the actor lived. It was on the west coast. Any ideas?

That would be Craggy Island, so it would.

Absolutely, 100%

Also, as the poster above mentioned, Big Train, which is a comedy sketch show.

There's also Brass Eye, which is brilliant. I don't know which parts they wrote but there presence is there, along with the fantastic Armando Ianucci and Chris Morris.
