Exactly. I want a return to the days of GWB. When I think of the GOP I think of safety. America was never more safe from terrorism or economic disaster than it was under Dubya.

It's not really very close. 5% gap.

At this moment the message on his web site says "We're still waiting for the final results to come in." So no official concession yet as far as I can see:

Republicans now control both houses. Will there be a cross burning party on the south lawn, or will they wait until they take the presidency?
I imagine there will be vouchers (republicans love those) for assault rifles for every true American now.

You're right, I think the seeds of the Democratic loss was sown with the party not screaming gun-humper and racist loud enough.

With these strong GOP wins and control of the Senate, we can finally get some things accomplished for the good of America.
 
What you saw yesterday is the opotheosis of a huge manipulation of electors by the medias of the oligarths to elect the best party to give them income tax rductions and crédits to the detriment of the majority.

Exactly. I expect an accelerated economic recovery now because there will be less fear about out of control spending with the "raised eyebrow" threat of future tax increases. Which some will interpret as the previous 6+ years of massive spending "finally paying off".

Our local county supervisors race is indicative of voter anger, I suppose. I would have picked Democrat Stenger in a landslide over extreme-right candidate Stream. Stream, a state representative, has voted with all the extremist positions at the state level, and St. Louis County is notably Democrat and liberal.
But he almost won.... A margin of 1600 votes.....And he was ahead at some points.

True to some extent but this election was truly a referendum on Obama and essentially a "Not Obama" vote. If the perceptions about Congress and the government don't change by 2016, we could have an opposite swing.

People aren't voting for an idea but against an idea. I don't even think that idea could be clearly defined other than Obama is unpopular.
