Facial muscles spasm

Are you so sure that is a myth, 100% of the time? That nobody has died from having that shock to their system? I bet this has indsced a heart attack. And it wouldn't be a stretch to think then that soemone could possibly get a heart attack of the brain (a stroke) from this.

The opening post talked about opening the fridge after ironing. I'm pretty sure this would be a myth.

Yes, not sure about the "ironing" bit.

I tend to iron my clothes, not my face. Maybe that's the cause of their pain.

You haven't linked to any study about it, or any reputible news article about it happening, so it remains a myth.

Why not write those Mythbuster folks and see if they'll debunk it?

As an aside, I read that facial pain from trigeminal neuralgia is the worst pain a human can experience, so bad that a significant number of sufferers kill themselves rather than endure it.

To continue the aside, surgery is successful in most cases (the cause is almost always a blood vessel pressing against the nerve). The hard part is getting a dentist or doctor to figure out the problem. I have a sister, grandmother, and neighbor who have or did have it, and they've all had multiple unnecessary root canals that made the pain much worse.
