Ask a Scientist: Sorry, Bigfoot Probably Doesn't Exist. But If He Did, He Would Be Taller Than a Bear

The presenter was Berkeley-based Eugenie C. Scott, a physical anthropologist and executive director of the National Center for Science Education...

A second man asked Scott "what percentage" she thought Bigfoot existed. To drive the point home he repeated, with meaning, "Percentage-wise."

"Less then five percent," Scott returned, and then added, "But that's because I'm an optimist."

Yet another man, who identified himself as as Bigfoot Field Researcher with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, wanted to know if the anthropologist thought that everyone who had ever spotted a Bigfoot was participating in a mass delusion.

The answer, again, was "No, but that doesn't mean the Bigfoot exists."

Needless to say, Dr. Scott's tired old arguments have been addressed for years...

Bigfoot probably only "hide" from "skeptics" like Dr. Eugenie Scott, because those folks with closed minds seem to never really go looking for Sasquatch. Once again, the psychological projection of intent and feelings on Bigfoot by debunkers is truly amazing.

I found these comments interesting

>>>Reports of sightings do not necessarily translate into Bigfoot actually existing in all of the locations they are reportedly seen.

So if BF wasnt "existing" where it was sighted then what was sighted? ( another fine example of [ you guessed it] BIGFOOT science)

>>>and to seem to indicate that they are “everywhere” is merely an attempt to throw up red herrings.

what about the BFRO and MAB reports. BF is like chicken man- hes "everywhere" ( yet nowhere)

>>>Or left deep in wilderness areas where no humans are around to find them anyway.

Then how did humans find them?

>>>most sane Bigfooters who know anything about the woods understand, it is the natural environment that is “disposing” of the bodies.

Why are all other species found at times but no BF? Does nature just have a thing for BF and always "disposes" of them 100%?

And heres the winner

>>>Bigfoot probably only “hide” from “skeptics” like Dr. Eugenie Scott, because those folks with closed minds seem to never really go looking for Sasquatch.

Apparently, BF hides from "believers" too since they cant seem to find him either.

I just want to say that the content of the OP does not live up to the thread title.

I was disappointed too.
Iwas hoping for something more like this:

This lady is the typical debunker, armchair style. What are her credentials, besides liking the attention?

You mean, aside from:

- a PhD in physical anthropology from the University of Missouri
- executive director of the National Center for Science Education
- elected to the California Academy of Sciences
- former President of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists
- the recipient of multiple awards from American Society for Cell Biology, Geological Society of America, National Science Board, and more
- the recipient of honorary degrees (in addition to her traditional degrees) from McGill University, Ohio State University, Rutgers, the University of New Mexico, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Wisconsin?

No, no credentials whatsoever. She just "likes the attention."

Where are Fahrenbach's qualifications that relate to being an expert in hair morpholgy?

Rockin, did i just say he is a zoologist, has an kick ass electron microscope (When your a zoologist, it doesnt take much to identify hairs).

very nicely put, Drudgewire..... :)

Big Foot might exist, but there is no way there could be life in any form on other planets........ :D

JF, sorry, life on other planets is a complete dead end.

for bigfoot, we had animals on earth that resembled it= Gigantopithecus, meganthropus robustus, neanderthal.

aliens=none, unless you count the ufo nonsense

...did I say UFO?

I said "life in any form" i.e. from microscopic life on up.

So here's your logic:

In the vast universe in all of space there is no chance of life, in any form, even in a microscopic form, that could possibly exist.

Yet, a creature, that is about the size of a human or ape, walking bipedal, can thrive by reproducing asexually, (I am making this assumption because I have never, ever heard a "big foot report" where the witness spotted more than one at a sighting. I have never heard "a family of big..feets..was spotted having a picnic, eating a carcass, picking fruit, having sex, etc, etc, etc., but honestly, I don't follow these sightings closely, so I may be wrong.), can elude all kinds of evidence such as the fact that there has never ever ever been a big foot corpse, an big foot attack, big piles of big foot poop, abandoned baby big foot, an injured big foot, pieces of big foot torn off limbs, a big foot skeleton, big foot vomit, big foot left over food, a big foot mating call, etc, etc, while living so close to human beings on the same planet could exist?

...........is that really your logic?????
