Emotional atheists and logical atheists.

It seems there are atheists who don't believe in God because He's illogical. I have shown in earlier threads why logic and reason are tools of Satan. He makes God seem illogical so you won't believe in Him. This is why Jesus said you have to have the innocence of a child to believe. Because what we call becoming ''smarter'' and ''mature'' is nothing but an illusion from Satan designed to stop us from believing in God.

Then there is the other kind of atheist. The emotional atheist who is bitter at God. Someone close to him may have died or his life is bad and he blames God. This kind of atheist I don't think is really an atheist but someone who is rebelling against God. The majority of the atheists here seem to be this kind of atheist. So to those of you who are emotional atheists, I have a message for you:

You may feel depressed, lonely and sad. Maybe you don't feel important because you don't make enough money, have a new sports car or a penthouse in Los Angeles. Maybe you are depressed from seeing models on television and don't think you're attractive enough so you feel inferior. Maybe someone close to you died and you're mad at God for taking them. All these things that you feel are a part of a false reality that Satan has put over on this world. But there is no reason why you have to live in Satan's false world, God can easily take you out of it. Life is not long at all and in the big picture of eternity, this is nothing.

You may ask why God let things happen. Why He created Satan, why He lets Satan do these things. I don't have an answer, but I have faith in God. I have faith that He has His reasons for things and I have faith that He knows what's best. He has offered us eternal life through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. He offers us a path of love. Once you know that all those negative feelings come from Satan's presence and realize all the positive feelings come from God's presence, you can drop the negativity because you'll realize it's OK to let go of the hate and choose a path of love.

If you want to know what Heaven is like just imagine the happiness and innocence of being a child. Think of the powerful and magical imagination you had. That's kind of like Heaven, except Heaven would be a lot better.

If you are bitter or angry at God just talk to Him. He listens. He's omnipresent and will always hear what you say or think. In today's society it's hard to be happy and it's hard to feel self confident and most of all it's hard to LOVE yourself and realize YOU are special. You were created in the image of our wonderful Father in Heaven. Don't let greed and lust take control of your life. Just breathe, relax and have a nice relationship with God through your life. If you do this, I promise your eternity will be the most wonderful thing you will ever experience.

An atheist who is bitter at God is called a believer.

Yes, we have sort of a 'no true Scottsman' problem with people claiming they are atheists but are really believers. We do try to weed them out and send them back to church whey they belong.

I've known some backsliding atheists who went to hell but were shipped back here for selling Bibles at inflated prices to sinners. Quite a problem.

The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives he releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate,
Lo, we shall rise up,
And then we’ll make the bugger’s eyes water.

You can read minds now? Because that's the only way one could be so certain of what you say.

Humm, so maybe Pink Floyd has some answers for us.
It seems there are atheists who don't believe in God because He's illogical.
So God can't be known by reason, but yet what technique is being used to convince us? Seems like an appeal to reason to me. Reason is like that, it seems to have a self evident virtue.
I have shown in earlier threads why logic and reason are tools of Satan. He makes God seem illogical so you won't believe in Him.
God actually seems logical to me, at least the idea we call God. There is a point we reach a limit in understanding, and so fill it in with something to help things make sense.

This is why Jesus said you have to have the innocence of a child to believe. Because what we call becoming ''smarter'' and ''mature'' is nothing but an illusion from Satan designed to stop us from believing in God.
But what about those other scriptures that say we used to think and act as a child but now need to move on? What about others that speak of moving from milk to solid food? Are you claiming that Satan has a hand in writing the Bible because it seem illogical? This seems like an obvious conclusion.

Then there is the other kind of atheist. The emotional atheist who is bitter at God.
Again, your complaint seems focused on some kind of believer, not an atheist. A-theist means without a god. I hate to play with semantics but this seem like stretching the meaning of words so they encompass an unrelated group you happen to dislike.
Someone close to him may have died or his life is bad and he blames God. This kind of atheist I don't think is really an atheist but someone who is rebelling against God.
So maybe being an atheist is not a black and white thing, but more along a gradual path. What if the blaming God gradually turns into a more detached and logic based atheism. Would that be more acceptable?
The majority of the atheists here seem to be this kind of atheist.
It's hard to give up on God. But this seems the way religions want it. Why blame atheists for it?
...You may feel depressed, lonely and sad.
Sure sometimes, but it is easier to bear without the additional helping of guilt that religion heaps on. How much better to believe that we are a natural part of the world around us, and our intelligence makes us stewards rather than dominators of the earth.
Maybe you don't feel important because you don't make enough money, have a new sports car or a penthouse in Los Angeles. Maybe you are depressed from seeing models on television and don't think you're attractive enough so you feel inferior.
Don't forget egotistical needs. I watch televangelists on tv who claim to talk to God or know God's will. What greater arrogance is there? Would believing in God suddenly make someone immune to those temptations, it seems not.

Maybe someone close to you died and you're mad at God for taking them.
Imagine the peace that comes from not needing to rationalize a God who requires abject worship while remaining completely uninvolved in humanity.

All these things that you feel are a part of a false reality that Satan has put over on this world. But there is no reason why you have to live in Satan's false world, God can easily take you out of it. Life is not long at all and in the big picture of eternity, this is nothing.
And yet, the decisions we make about God in this infinitesimal and flawed existence are destined to follow us for eternity. It takes great intelligence to construct belief around eternal punishment for a finite life. Yet, where is the justice?
You may ask why God let things happen. Why He created Satan, why He lets Satan do these things. I don't have an answer, but I have faith in God. I have faith that He has His reasons for things and I have faith that He knows what's best. He has offered us eternal life through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. He offers us a path of love. It's OK to let go of the hate and choose a path of love without a belief in God.
If you want to know what Heaven is like just imagine the happiness and innocence of being a child. Think of the powerful and magical imagination you had. That's kind of like Heaven, except Heaven would be a lot better.
The heaven of a masochist is full of whips and handcuffs? Creating our own heaven seems like very a subjective answer.

If you are bitter or angry at God just talk to Him. He listens. He's omnipresent and will always hear what you say or think. In today's society it's hard to be happy and it's hard to feel self confident and most of all it's hard to LOVE yourself and realize YOU are special. If you do this, I promise your eternity will be the most wonderful thing you will ever experience.
You need to start by showing that God is needed to love and feel special and not have greed and lust rule our lives. Additionally, being 'childlike' is not an idea that originated with Christianity, but preceded it by several centuries. In fact, Christian scripture arguable states that people must move from the childlike state. I can quote c&v if you like.

Creating our own heaven seems like very a subjective answer.

I never said you created your own Heaven. Heaven is already created. I said Heaven is like that because of the happiness and love.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
- 1 Cor 13:11 (Bible)

Compare to the 'Tao Te Ching' passage written hundreds of years earlier (a time known as the 'Axial Age'):

Embracing the Way, you become embraced;
Breathing gently, you become newborn;
Clearing your mind, you become clear;
Nurturing your children, you become impartial;
Opening your heart, you become accepted;
Accepting the world, you embrace the Way.
Humm. much better case for being 'childlike' there. Did you have some other passages in mind? Maybe Mark?
"And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God"
(Mark 10:13-14).
But what I find on Christian sermon sites is that this just means you should start indoctrinating children very young.

If you want to know what Heaven is like just imagine the happiness and innocence of being a child. Think of the powerful and magical imagination you had. That's kind of like Heaven, except Heaven would be a lot better.
What's not subject to what each person desires? This is similar to asking people to think of God as a 'heavenly father'. What if the person had an abusive father? Same problem.

Having missed these earlier threads, I wonder how you showed this without employing logic. You certainly employ logic in this particular post. "This is why Jesus said you have to have the innocence of a child to believe" represents a conclusion logically related to a premise (which may or may not have been logically derived). Incidentally, I was a tremendously logical child.

Then there is the other kind of atheist. The emotional atheist who is bitter at God

One can ony be bitter at God if one believes in God, in which case one is not an atheist. By your definition of atheist, Satan is an atheist.

Yes, I am a logical atheist, 1inChrist. But I don't hate God either. How can you hate God if you don't believe in him and he continually fails to provide proof of his existence?

Oh, come on 1inC, you need to finish the last thread you started before starting a new one!

So 1inChrist is saying the means to believe in God is to be immature, naive, and ignorant?

Need I say more?

What I like is how he says...

"Using logic, you should believe me that you cannot use logic to prove God"

Do as I say not as I do... eh, 1Rfruitloop?
