Does Pi terminate or never?

No, by "near infinite" i mean "really, Really, REALLY big (but finite)". :)

(As far as I remember "near infinite" is just a cute way of saying "you'll never find the end, but it's not infinite". For all intents and purposes, it is the same as being infinite.)

Except for the intent and purpose of whether something is rational or irrational-- "really really big, but finite" is no different from "not so big but finite" and not really any closer to "infinite" When it comes to infinity in this case, a miss is as good as a mile.

There's no meaningful measure of "closeness" to infinity. There's always still infinity to go :P

how about visual Pi. using the smilies side bar like a numpad,
1=:) , 2=:D , 3=:o etc., and the decimal point can =:crowded: and 0 doesn't occur in the first 20 decimal places

pi = :o :crowded: :) ;) :) :p :rolleyes: :D :( :p :o :p :mad: :rolleyes: :confused: :rolleyes: :o :D :o :mad: ;) :( (to 20 dp ;) :D)

It looks friendly that way.

I was just looking at pi squared and the square root of pi. It was transcendent.
