Split Thread Diversity Equity and Inclusion and merit in employment etc

As I explained above, the federal Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism investigated Harvard. It is one of 10 universities that the Task Force announced it would investigate. In addition, the Department of Education has sent letters to 60 colleges and universities warning that they are subject to enforcement action if they do not come into compliance with Title VI anti-discrimination requirements.
Rejecting Israeli fascism is NOT the same as anti-Semitism. Harvard is not anti-Semitic. Their President is a Jew for God's sake.

Harvard deserves this "punishment". Don't have racist policies, don't lose federal funding. It's pretty simple. It's a consequence you probably endorse in every case except this one (which would make this special pleading, a fallacy on your part).
Harvard has done nothing to deserve such treatment.

They are being punished for standing up to fascism and racism. And for that reason, MAGA feels they must suffer.

I don't think he's even saying that.

I think he's saying that even if it's the bad kind of discrimination, we shouldn't pay attention because it's only being raised due to the bad kind of spin, framing, and bias.
What I'm saying is pretty clear. That source is extremely biased. That's all I'm saying. Anything else you think I'm saying is in your imagination.

It's no more biased than all the sources choosing not to report on Harvard's bad behavior.

The bias is irrelevant when the claim is true. Ignoring the truth and focusing on "bias" is not the play here, Arth. It just puts you in your own little post-fact bubble.

Here's another example of "equity:"

Make no doubt about it, the goal is to reduce not just the Ds and Fs but the As as well:
How you assess makes a difference in outcomes. A well known example is that if you compare assessments that are heavily weighted to terminal examinations versus those weighted to continuous assessment, the former favours males while the latter females.

If you are looking at extracurricular for university entrance how do you balance the person from the slum who worked a fast food joint in the evenings versus the one from the burbs who did piano, and whose school has a service program.

I think poverty / class at least in the UK is an issue; Black Africans historically have had the highest rate of university attainment, whilst Black Afro-carribean males the lowest (along with working class white males).
