I'm planning to attend the JREF discussion group and the Internet show before TAM, so I looked on the web and PMed Linda about maps and directions. Linda was very helpful in confirming locations and giving better directions. Linda said the JREF office is on the NE corner of SE 12th St. (Davie Blvd.) and SE 2nd Ave. They have parking in both the front and the back of the building.

The hotel page has maps & driving directions from the airport. See http://www.marriott.com/dpp/PropertyPage.asp?MarshaCode=FLLRP for information. The interesting thing is that it's not limited to nearby airports; if you want to drive from the Seattle, WA, airport, this page will give you directions.
Sorry, it can't give you driving directions from Honolulu.
Linda gave me directions between the hotel and JREF.
"SE 12 St and Davie Blvd. and route 736 are all the same street. From JREF, head west (right) on Davie Blvd. to the I-95 interchange and turn left to go south. The inside lane on Davie Blvd. becomes a "trap" lane that forces you to to turn onto the expressway. Stay in that lane as you're getting onto the expressway as that lane leads you to I-595. Immediately move over 1 lane to your right to take 595 west. Once you're on 595 going west, the rest of the directions are fine. Coming from the hotel to the JREF, I find it more direct to take 595 east to the I-95 north ramp, and get off the ramp onto Davie Blvd. After you are on the northbound ramp, you'll have to move over 2 lanes to the left to get off at Davie instead of continuing north onto 95...you will never actually get onto I-95 itself either coming or going. I know that sounds confusing, but it's much simpler than it sounds."
And Linda's directions from the airport to JREF.
"The airport encompasses all the area between I-95 and US 1 and all access is on the east (US 1) side of the airport, so if you're coming directly to JREF from the airport, exit the airport via US 1 north and take that about a mile north to Davie Blvd. (which is SE 12 St). Turn left on Davie and we're 4 blocks ahead on the right."
For those of you like me, where 'high 30s' is a heat wave in January, Linda told me a little about the weather. I would have guessed aout 10°F cooler, but I was pleasantly surprised.
"The weather in January is usually cool (for us) and dry and very pleasant...highs in the 70s and lows in the '60s. If we're getting a cold front coming through, it could be rainy for a day and then clearing and colder. It rarely dips below 40 though."
