Did We Kill Michael Jackson? It is a simple yes or no question. Is it really so absurd? THink about it. First of all, I have been doing some digging on the two molestation charges and they both suspiciously seem like shake-downs. What about audio tape of the first accusers dad gloating about how much money he was going to get by knocking the music legend down.

He grew up sheltered from how harsh the world really was and how people will do anything for the all mighty dollar.

He was a Jehovah Witness and for a while he lived by their strict code of living with your parents until you are married. He was even going door-to-door in disguise with copies of The Watch Tower after Thriller became a success.

Maybe he wasn't a child molester. Maybe he was this eternal kid and the force of the harsh real world turned him in to an anorexic man whose only way to cope was pain killers.

mmhh, first i wanted to say No, sure i didnt, but as a society we maybe indeed did.

but one thing is sure, its not a simple yes or no question.

who the hell is we?

No, it was Professor Plumb in the dining room with the lead pipe.

If we killed Michael Jackson, how come the rest of us are still alive? We lived in the same world, with the same cultural values, the same broad spectrum of stresses and demands. But most of us--most celebrities, even--manage to not get killed by the rest of us.

Further, I propose that if we're responsible for Michael Jackson's outcomes, then by the same token Bill Thompson can claim no credit (or blame) for his own outcomes.

There are a lot of societal evils to throw in the brew.

I know a Jehova Wittness who is a wonderful lovely girl but when you really get to know her you find how unusally strict the religion is. They do not vote or get politcally involved. THey completely 100% buy into the Kingdom of God routine. She would never consider dating someone outside of her religion. I can imagine this meant that Micheal Jackson never had groupies like other pop stars.

Add into the mix the fact that everyone wants a piece of you if you are rich. Everyone wants to take advantage of you or scam you. The day after his death I heard his spiritual advisor on the radio saying that the reason Michael hung out with kids -- the real reason -- was that he got to the point where he could not trust adults anymore.

Add to the mix the fact that in North American society women are all pretty much gold diggers.

To change the subject a bit now. I have a personal story to relate. I went to high school with a kid whose dad was Elvis Presley's dentist. He told us that Elvis was always depressed and was never in a good mood. No, not because he was afraid of dentists. It was because he confided in him that he never knew who to trust.

Jackson's family was trying to get him off of pain medicine but it might have gotten to the point where the hurt that the public had thrust upon him had gone too far and the balance was already tipped.

No. Lack of oxygen going to his brain killed him.

Don't remember where I heard this, but it's worth quoting:
"People don't kill people, death kills people. It's a medical fact!"

I mean, does society as it exists today play a role in the demise of this man in an unfair and unjust way?

Got it?

Are they not?

My experience is that in this country, how much money you have is the most important attraction. My experience is that it is not this way in other cultures.

Paximperim, if that is your real name, are you quoting me because you agree or disagree with me? Or is it something along the lines of "the truth is sometimes shocking and it hurts"?

I would love to take credit.

But come on. How did he grow up sheltered? Even I know his father was a money-loving abuser who exploited his kids.

And "he could only trust kids" is so BS. Kids are just as mean and two-faced as adults, it is just that adults have more power to manipulate them.

I think the real problem would be he got the help of surgeons and private physicians instead of shrinks.

The rich have the means to buy the drugs and live out the distorted fantasies that most of us are prevented from acting out when we have mental problems.

That might be the first intelligent post on this thread.

I am sure there will be some books or movies for television coming out now that will let us take a walk in his proverbial shoes.

Yes, we all did. And we all killed Jesus too. I'm so ashamed!

i think i agree on the trust part.

i have no clue about US gold digging woman :boggled: (does it mean they all just want money and nice cars?)

what i mainly blame is the media attention celebritys get. they have almost no privacy. we have several "journals" that report just on the provate live of celebritys. Just because i love Pink Floyd doesnt mean i have to know what tiolettepaper David Gilmour is using. or who he is dating?
i just dont care.
But on the other hand many if not most celebritys want it and use it to earn money. while others seem to be able to have privacy.

Humans are crazy, totaly crazy.

and applecord is right i think, from what i know about his live, and that isnt much, i would also blame his dad.

when i see how we handle celebritys i can understand God and Jesus not showing up anymore :D

<insert obligitory "John & Kate +8" reference>

I've heard those words, but I don't know who they are. I assume it has something to with reality television. Proper celebrities have names like "Posh" and "Becks" and "Courtney Hole". I have no time to waste on regular people pretending to be celebrities, when I could be paying attention to celebrities trying to be regular people and failing miserably.
