Democracy is the same everywhere?

Arab News just put this editorial out on it's web site.

Arab News tends to be more moderate than Al Jazeera, but it's news and especially it's editorial policy are anchored to Islam. I am no fan of Bush, and will be campaigning hard to remove him, but when a blind hog finds an acorn we should be thrilled.

Unfortunately, I think democracy will fail miserably in Iraq.

With the Shia, the Sunni, and the Kurds, you have a melting pot that refuses to melt.

You can't have majority rule and equal representation if racial/cultural/religious subgroups cannot create and submit to a centralized government composed of members from other groups they consider inferior.
