"David Icke: Was He Right?" tonight on five in the UK, 11o'clock.

I'm hoping we get a chance to see the lizards at last.

Have any of you tried to read one of his books? They're so dense with "information" it's hard to follow what he actually thinks. It seems like believes every conspiracy theory he's ever heard and thinks they're all interconnected. I still haven't been able to finish one.

Maybe all his books are interconnected as well, and you have to read following pages throughout all of them?

I didn't see it all, but what I did see was like an Icke infomercial. They didn't present the other side.

He knows how to work an audience of rabid CTists. They can't get enough of the "Bush/Blair are the real terrorists" line. They also filmed him at his own mother's funeral; a suitable venue to preach his beliefs.

I didn't see it mentioned in the programme, but according to his website he's looking for donations to pay his legal bills.

Guys like him make me wonder, it's likely that nearly all the CTist have a misunderstanding of the rational world, but I also wonder if there aren't a couple who are just ordinary, intelligent Joes that one day said "Hey, I bet I can make a lot of money by spouting some nonsense, and no one will really prosecute, because they'll all think I'm just a nutter!"

Enlighten us non-Brits, please? :)

and us brits that don't get it?

is it a reference to the fact that before being a TV presenter and consipracy nut, he was a goalie?

Did he audition for the role of Screech?

They didn't need to. It was quite cute; they let him show his theories for the crap they were, only using his own words.

He used to play football (Soccer) and was the Goalkeeper.

This made his conversion to the SON OF GOD a surprise as regular footie fans knew he just hated a cross...

...I'll go now.

Cheers! But ehm... does he think he is Jezus reincarnate or something? I didn't know that.

One of the (non skeptic) forums I read had several, "that was interesting, I'll have to look into it", "there has to be something to it" type comments. I'll bet he flogs a few books off the back of it.

He did do. However this was years ago, long before he came to publish his current theories.

He does not believe that he is the Messiah now. He has made that very clear.

He went on the Wogan show on BBC One, about 7pm, Prime time and told a stunned nation that he was in fact the Messiah.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke (in the section under ‘contact with the spirit world)

This led to another popular gag in that if he was the Messiah then Easter would have to be moved because the audience and Wogan crucified him.
