Conflict resolution?

Hmm.. this one is a puzzler. How does one dilute a diluant in the same diluant?

what?

This one's been mentioned before, but....

.... it's still incredible.

Skimming down the alphabetical lists, I'm surprised by how many remedies are made from real pharmaceuticals. I saw ampicillin, amphotericin and phenobarbitone, among others, and I only looked quickly at two pages.

How can they justify using so many of the products of evil modern medicine in their remedies? (Or maybe it's really a remedy for the ill-effects of ampicillin and so on - maybe the ampicillin one protects you against antibiotic-induced cancer....)

What berlin wall can be used for

The following is a brief summary of this proving.
General & Mind symptoms
Those who suffer from family strife and oppression, often from childhood.
For those brought up in the shadow of an oppressor (i.e. the victims of paternal, physical &/or sexual abuse).
Unspoken or inaccessible grief. Dumb suffering.
Sense of being unable to escape; especially when personal & creative expression is suppressed.
Creativity is stifled, ridiculed or pressed into the service of something else.
Wasted opportunities and talents through the ruthless ambition of parents.
Depression of unspoken origin. Often accompanied by severe headaches. Older patients can be out of touch with the causes for their long held grief and depression. For those who can't tell fact from fiction within their lives due to brainwashing effect of the oppressor's influence.
Sense of guilt where it is inappropriately assumed by the patient. Alcoholism ( where liquor is used as an escape).
Enormously aggressive energy; hurried with apparent purpose but signifying little.
Impulsive: children who have a desire to inflict physical hurt on others (like Anacardium). The impulse is part of a fascination with cruelty (while Anacardium is basically insecure, Berlin Wall is not here concerned about the ego).
Self destructive tendencies for those who have an impulse to ram their car into a lorry or a wall; or who would like to experience jumping from a height without a parachute.
For those who use drugs to increase their enjoyment in the power of their aggressive creative energy.
Far sighted entrepreneurial types (often workaholics) who can see the obvious dangers of their life style but enjoy it in spite of the inevitable destructive quality.
Righteous anger spiritual pride chronic of Staphysagria.
Suspicious; expects the worst; constant state of fear.
For those who live a life of perpetual mortification as well as those who perpetrate the situation. For the victims of bullies and bureaucracy.
Inability to escape so they try and lose themselves in mundane work
Both Syphilitic and Tubercular
For overbearing, tyrannical types who constantly complain about the pathetic and feeble nature of those in their charge and do nothing to alleviate the situation.
These were some of the feelings and symptoms that were collated after the meditative proving of this remedy.

Thier method of proving could best be described as odd

BERLIN WALL PROVING
This remedy has never been proved classically but information was gained about it through a particular form of proving called a ‘meditative proving’, carried out by a group of homeopaths who had meditated together over a period of years. Each member of the group would take a particular remedy and then proceed to meditate on its effects over a period of some 3-5 hours. The remedy picture would then be written up and published in a homeopathic journal created for the express purpose of publishing some of these provings.

Now if you will excuse me I have to go and write up my report on how invisible pink unicorns use thier horns to untie the knots in the vapor body. The whole thing cam to me while I was in a trance.

Also skimming the almost endless list of "remedies" this company sells brings up a question. How can a company possibly deal with such a huge number of SKUs? They sell thousands of "remedies", each in at least 9 different potencies, each in 5 different delivery vehicles. Seems to me it is impossible to manage such a nightmarish inventory quagmire - and must conclude that they simply have bins of the 5 different delivery forms and differentiate by label copy only.

This is why I hate talking to doctors, I always end up finding out about some new way to die.

You may choose to think so, I couldn't possibly comment. :D

If you were following the thread on HH where MRC_Hans was trying a proving, one of the reasons suggested for his reported lack of effect was that he might have used a dud supplier. Some conversation then followed, regarding who were reputable suppliers and who weren't. Various people had various ideas. If the patient got better, obviously this was the real deal, if not, it's obviously another excuse for no joy while still refusing to question the great system of homoeopathy.

Great work if you can get it. Product with a huge mark-up (any idea how much original Berlin Wall they'd need to keep them supplied for eternity? - probably not much), tiny raw material costs, no statutory manufacturing standards, no regulatory authority to satisfy, and get this, a final product which officially and admittedly cannot be differentiated from the basic solvent, which thus precludes any possible quality control of the finished item.

And they criticise regular pharmaceuticals! And maintain that they themselves aren't in it for the money? Get real!

Geni's excerpts were interesting. Blind proving, anyone? Meditation on an unknown remedy? I think not. Funny how the proving symptoms always seem to have some sort of metaphysical affinity with the alleged remedy, isn't it? Oh, I've pointed out before about Sympathetic Magic.
For those who can't tell fact from fiction within their lives due to brainwashing effect ....
Hey, maybe it's a remedy for belief in homoeopathy!

But Rolfe, you choose to overlook their enormous water bills.
Typical hard line sceptic.

I should think the obvious answer to Btox' query is that they have only one concentration in inventory. If higher dilutions are required, they simply sccop out a drop and top up the appropriate size bottle from the tap.

The beauty of this method is that, since at typical homoeopathic levels there are no active molecules in there anyway, it turns out that only one stored container will hold the base stock for all chemicals ( as they are in any case identical).

In theory, this container could be a bottle of distilled water. About half a litre should do.

This enables computer controlled "just in time" stock control, using a Sinclair ZX80, though a 32 bit machine will be required for the accounts.

Don't worry, Agamemnon, that was just a dig at Rouser's latest delusion. It's not true.

This is a bit sad, but I actually added up the number of remedies on their books. 2461.

If BTox is right about the different potencies and vehicles, that comes to 110,745. At least. That's a helluva stock.

He's right. I don't believe it.

Come to that, I remember a criticism of early homoeopathy that said they actually only used a few remedies, and most of the things in their Materia Medica had never actually been used in a patient. They do admit to trying Berlin Wall on three people, but I wonder how many have never been used at all.

I make it 147,600 excuding LM's

I think there are 60 combinations for each remedy

Glad you folks actually counted - I didn't have the time. 100,000+ SKUs? No way. Maybe the joke's on the homeopaths - the suppliers know their "remedies" will never be returned, and all have the exact same physiological activity, so why bother?

OK, not going to argue. :D

Maybe they prepare each order individually from the mother tincture. Or maybe not, of course.

I remember when there was a TV programme about this when one of these apparently positive papers hit the news, they showed you the technicians in the London Homoeopathic Hospital making up remedies. They were using vortex mixers, so much for Hahnemann's specified number of shakes, and I don't think they did this new glassware for every step ritual, but it was still pretty labour-intensive.

Perhaps this is the justification for the shocking prices, of course. :nope:

I've run out of "I don't believe it" smilies.

Of course, after reading purple text on a black starry background I'm pretty much blind, anyway.
