Computer programs for educators?

I am wondering if anyone knows of any place to go to find computer programs for educators. Specifically, what I want is games wherein you can manipulate content...

Perhaps I should give an example of the kind of thing I'm imagining.

I want to create some fun vocabulary games for the kids. I thought "huh, wouldn't it be neat if I had a program that mimicked the game Memory. I could drag a gif or a jpg or write some text onto "cards" and then line 'em all up like Memory, and then the kids could turn 'em over by clicking on them."

So, say, if the word was "prattle", then the card it would match with would have, say, a gif of a kid chattering away.

I know this kind of game exists, but I'd need one for which I could create my own content.

Anyone know of any place that has programs like that?

If you can't find a place that has that already available, I would suggest using a visual programming language to create what you are looking for. There are many sites that offer drag and drop UI programming languages that would take little effort in creating simple games.

There is Kanagram, for linux, which is an annagram game for kids. I don't know if you can run it on windows - but with virtual box plus any linux latest distro it can be installed in the blink of an eye.
