About one week ago, my laptop power supply went, and I bought a generic
one as a replacement (the kind where you buy the supply and then a connector that corresponds to the model of your computer). Soon after, the computer started getting blue screens with this error code:
0X00000008e
This corresponds to a processor error.
I am not sure whether it is a loose motherboard connection, or whethter the processor is overheating (due to the wrong power supply, or a loose heatsink).
Some of the other symptoms (the computer works longer when it is on a desk then when it is used as a laptop) look like it is a heat problem, but could this be related to the power supply?
