Comic strip TAM

Carol Lay is one of my favorite cartoonists. Some of her strips are really quirky...but that's probably why I like them. I contacted her before TAM4 and suggested she consider attending- said she'd enjoy it based on some of her work I'd seen. She said she'd try, and guessed that if she could find some ideas for a cartoon it would be a good tax writeoff. Unfortunately she was sick and missed TAM4. Imagine my surprise to-by chance- find myslef sitting at a table with her for lunch at TAM5!
I wonder if anyone would bid on an autographed copy of that strip at a TAM6 auction........?

AWESOME! That dude was one of my favorite speakers as well.

We are getting famous!!!!

did you send this to Randi?

I think she makes him look so cute in the cartoon!!!

And that has to be Hitchens at the podium.

that is I am sure just WATER.

though why do I feel Hitchens would react like WCFields did when given a glass containing WATER. He would spit it out like it was poison and exclaim in a horrified voice, "WATER!!!"

Something I can print out and put up at work to help explain what TAM is about.

Thank you!

Boo

Seriously though, can you really write down TAM as a tax deduction if you can somehow figure out how to make it work-related?

Just curious ...

I enjoyed it as well, though for the life of me, I can't recall what it had to do with Skepticism...
My guess is that if you can expose kids to good science, you are helping them on the way to being skeptics.

and then comment on the mating habits of fish?

thanks for the compliments, all! i had a good time trolling for material.

and, yes, cartoonists can write off all kinds of things. trips to conferences, dvd rentals, bombs shaped like bowling balls that blacken your face when they explode...

It seems you are exposed to these bombs quite often... Does this mean that the Wiley E. Coyote cartoons are actually based on proper research of "bowling ball bombs" instead of just being made up, like I used to think?

I'm sure that she has the entire ACME catalog!

It's only available to cartoonists though!

Good plan Boo! That is gonig up at my work also!

Yeah well, with my AMAZING drawing skills (as evidenced by my avatar), I could also be a cartoonist if I wanted to!

That is, if I only made stick figures and used a PC to type in the font, or getting a professional letterer. And even then it would probably look worse that all the other stick figure comic strips put together.

I suppose I'd better change my avatar soon, as it's probably an offense to the eyes of people who can really draw stuff...
