CBO Report on Effects of Repealing Health Care Reform

The GOP is always trying to conjure up their own facts... global warming is a hoax, evolution is "just a theory", death panels...etc.

They are a party of liars.

But they always paint themselves as the party of fiscal responsibility. Yet their track record when in control of Congress and the White House paints an entirely different picture, namely one of a party happy to run up big government deficits. See: Reagan, Bush (41), Bush (43), for example.

I guess this time around it's a case of, "Look, we're going to do something about the deficit. We really mean it this time!"

They are doing something about the deficit, they are helping to make it grow.

By exempting repeal of the health care bill from their "cut as you go" policy they are admitting that the health care reform will lower the deficit.

They know that the repeal is going no where, they just want to say they tried. They certainly don't want to have argument over the budget implications of the reform bill because they know they will loose.

You know, that's a really, really good point. And proof positive that not even Republicans believe the crap that Republicans say.

But since the original CBO analysis was flawed (it had to make assumptions in line with the bill, even for fairly silly savings), I don't care too much here.

Don't worry, we can find and cut $500 billion in wasteful Medicare spending  .
