Calgary pre-TAM get together

TM, If you need a ride to Rebecca's, just let me know, and I'll come get you. I used to live in the South end, so I just need an address. No matter what the weather or precipitation, we'll get to Rebeccas beautiful abode.

Hearty Mariner? Yum!

Yeah, we Cinderellas really should try for the 2008 ball. I will really have something to celebrate by finishing up school by then! Also by then, the other Canucks won't be TAM virgins, and we'll all tear up the town. Hey, just being able to give the Bad Astronomer a noogie myself would be worth the trip!

I really do miss it every year that it goes by. Sighs,

Bump

T-man and I will be showing up at your doorstep around 3:30-4:00, Rebecca!

See you guys there!

This sucks :(

And I ended up taking this weekend off from ScienceWorld so I could go work at the Aquarium.

Anyway, I hope all of you guys have a great time, even if I'm not there, and I'll see some of you at TAM soon.

Pictures when you get back???

(I went to Bodyworld in Houstonk, and I'm going in Dallas again after TAM. Cool....)

Thanks again for hosting, Rebecca!!

Once more, it was a blast. Scintillating conversation, great scotch, and wine and beer, AND PIZZA!!!

It's so cool to get together with folks and be able to talk intelligently about so many topics! Robin was great, and so was Michael!

AND I got to ride with Eos for 3 hrs.

Thank you all, again!

I'm so very jealous! However, I'll be there obliquely, since I've obtain a set of the Gil trilogy, which I will be starting today during my flight to TAM.

By the way, I'm pretty sure we went until about 12:30 or 12:45am last time, then rustypouch and I even had one more nightcap at my hotel befor knocking off at 2am or so. Good times.

See you folks at TAM - well, most of you. I'm sorry you can't join us, Rebecca.

Wow, that was so much fun! Rebecca, you're truly an inspiration. Your course is one of a kind, and is probably not offered anywhere else, but so darn essential. I truly do hope it catches on and you get due kudos for all that hard work.

T-Man, I learned so much from you. I don't feel like such an ignorant Canuck anymore. You're a wordly guy.

Rusty and Badger were talking about TAM, and I'll bet you both had soo much fun! I'd say watch out for those two to everyone else, but I posted this too late :D

Everybody needs to know about the book Rebecca is publishing next. I knew I would be too tired to remember the entire title :o I only remember the words "Lateral" and "Bible". Please post the title here Rebecca, to help my feeble brain keep it intact!

The ride there and home was a treat, with Badger all to myself for a few extra hours. I don't know how he put up with an inebriated Eos, but I'm grateful :o

Thank you all for the great memories once a again.

T-Man, I learned so much from you. I don't feel like such an ignorant Canuck anymore. You're a wordly guy.
:o I think that Robin & Rebecca are more worldly than I am. I can't believe that they worked in Kuwait & Sudan! Anyway I had a great time at Rebecca's and it was nice meeting you again.

Coming up for air

Hi guys, and sorry - haven't had time to check the forum for the last couple weeks. Every waking moment NOT spend in front of students has been spent doing what I fondly and earnestly hope will be the totally final edits on the damn book. :boggled: Nearly there!

Eos, the title is The Lateral Truth: An Apostate's Bible Stories. Guaranteed blasphemous! :D

Rustypouch phoned me up with some of the skinny on TAM - I am so going next year. But we were knocking around an idea to fill in some of the sad, empty hours before then: how about another Calgary BBQ, timed to hit when TJ makes his annual pilgrimage to the frozen north, and hopefully to catch T-Man on his next leave from Qatar, and nabbing Badger when he ISN'T in China, and maybe even managing to lure the elusive Jas in from the coast; plus any other forumites who could possibly be persuaded to pass through Calgary at the time. June-ish? July-ish? Any thoughts?
