....where senseless perception overrides sensible precaution, post-horse-barn-egress is the subject, and just how badly do you have to treat people to make them feel safe is the question.

I think it was Ben Franklin, back in the day, that said something about people who trade essential liberty for temporary security won't get either one. Who was it that said the bit about, "public servants," always turning into, "public masters?"

I can't help but think that I'm going to hate the 21st century. :(

The bolded part explains much. If you think I'm joking, you haven't spent enough time in Cincinnati.

I have it on good authority that "Cincinnati" is Navaho Code-Talker code for "wretched hive of scum and villainy".

Like dumb and arrogant bureacrats are going to vanish if the Democrats get in.
And I don't see Obama dropping all the new security measures since 9/11 also.

Out of curiosity, why can't we? Besides logistics, why shouldn't we be able to send the date and time we were at a government facility to the government, and obtain security tapes and all recordings of what happened in that facility? Privacy is the knee-jerk reason, but if you are requesting recordings of yourself, I don't see that being a problem. Cost? So make it fee-only. That should stop frivolous requests.

Lets do that. Make it so you can obtain a tape of your dealings with the government for a fee, to do with as you wish. Then we could finally stop the:
"Well, that's just one side."
*Waits for government to comment*
*Hell freezes over*
*Still "No Comment"*

Every time I see one of these types of thread, I am reminded of "Cops", or wildest Police Chase--that type of show. Every one of the idiots on those shows seem to think the cops are harassing them for absolutely no reason at all...
 
So someone who was stopped by security has a bad story to tell about it? He felt they were rude and he didn't understand why he was singled out?

Big deal. I've probably had a half-dozen or so encounters with police/security where they were obnoxious, heavy-handed and irrational. I've also had a similar number of encounters where they were polite, professional, and helpful above and beyond what is required.

Stop boasting. I'm sure there are lots of contestants for the title of "Knee-Jerk Legislation World Champion", and America isn't sure to win the competition. ;)

And the show always selects incidents that paint the cops in a good light.

The point remains--The perps in those videos STILL don't think they did anything wrong to deserve such treatment

But--there is no reason other than privacy not to make them available
