1) In which Tokie says that spelling Christian "Xtian" is a modern phenomenon - ImagnialDisc cites a usage from the 11th century.

2) In which Tokie was adamant that children were not sexualised prior to the late 60s, and asked for evidence of, and I paraphrase a "TV commercial from 1960 showing a slut-dressed teenager" - I pointed out that Lolita was written in 1955, and PonderingTurtle also stated that young girls were sexual objects in stage shows during the 1930s.

3) This thread, in which Tokie says that the liberals are trying to ban Big Macs (or transfats, which Big Macs contain) - LossLeader cites the fact that everyone involved in the NY transfats decision was a Republican nominee.


So, here's the rub. Why are you still steaming at us? Why aren't you furious at whichever blinkered, right-wing source flat-out lied to you? You're being lied to by whoever it is you get your data from, TC. Why doesn't that piss you off?

Tokie, I've been reading Loss Leader's stuff for over a year, and can't find "leftie" to be an apt label for his general positions. I'd guess moderate, a bit left of center on some bits, and bit right of center on others.

Thanks, DR. I don't see what my politics have to do with my posts in this thread. Either the facts I cited about the Board of Health and Big Macs are true or they aren't. It's not like I'm arguing that life doesn't meaningfully begin at conception. There is no moral dimension to my statements in this thread.
