So Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants to regulate portion size of soft drinks. What's next? Hamburger size? Sounds to me he's kinda losin' it...maybe a workout video is next? "Losin' It with Bloomberg".

Should voluntary cannibalism be legal? Should eating endangered species be legal? Because unless you think the answer is yes, you are also in favor of regulating what people eat.

What else is new? He's been campaigning aggressively for gun control well beyond the bounds of NYC forever, notably in his recent Superbowl ads... The guy isn't interested in staying in his lane.

No, no, he is only interested in limiting soda because it has so much sugar.

"Fruit juices" and other such drinks, like Snapple (who he cut a deal with for exclusivity in City facilities including public schools), are just fine because they have no artificial sugar at all. Nope. No siree bob.

:confused: Snapple doesn't come in quart-sized containers with free refills, so it wouldn't be affected any more than vending machines.

You guys just dont get where he is coming from. You know those big 64oz cups? Just the other day Bloomfield fell into a half full one and nearly drowned before some of his people fished him out with a straw!

Reductio ad absurdum. You might as well cite pollution laws at that point.

Restricting food based on source, be it endangered or human, is not the same as restricting it based on size and location sold. The justification here is health, which isn't the case with the other two. People opposed to the restriction aren't arguing against any and all restrictions on food.
