Okay, I admit it, I'm running Norton Antivirus 2002. It's time to junk it in favor of something better. From what I can see, there isn't anything worse, so this should be easy.

What should I get? Cost no object (more or less). I'm running Windows XP Pro.

I use VCOM (previously Ontrack) Systemsuite 5.
No problems so far on an XP Home system.

He's running Windows XP Pro, so your advice is of absolutely no practical value whatsoever. Typical Macintosh, really :p

I use AVG's free version. The price is right, and it appears to do the job well. It's also nicely unobtrusive.

I did use MacAfee for a while but had some weird compatibility problems and got fed up of all its "Security Centre" malarkey when all I wanted was a virus checker.

I swapped to CA's ezAntivirus about 6 months ago and had no issues with it, no extraneous "security centre" or other fluff.

It's a Gordian Knot solution. I'm a creative Mac user, so I can think outside the box. :p
