the fact hat he has poor oral hygiene is enough to disqualify him, in my opinion.

TMZ published a photo Wednesday of the Republican presidential candidate staring at his breakfast plate after allegedly losing a front tooth at Tommy's Country Ham House in Greenville, South Carolina. Once the retired neurologist realized his tooth fell out, he "discretely placed the errant chomper into his shirt pocket" and got up to deliver "an impassioned speech," according to the gossip site.

Carson briefly mentioned the mishap Saturday in his speech to the South Carolina Freedom Summit. It turns out he lost not just one, but two pearly whites during his trip to the Palmetto State.

"They said [South Carolina] was a pretty rough-and-tumble place. But I lost two teeth since I've been here," Carson said to laughter from the audience. "This one went out last night, this one went out -- but I also had a chance to see two very fine dentists here in South Carolina, so it's very good."

Sounds like the caps fell off of two broken teeth. Poor workmanship by hi usual dentist.

Not the lack of oral hygiene, but the big question is how did he lose them originally? Fight? Fall down while drunk? Or bit off more than he could chew?

Discretely? Really? I shudder at the state of American journalism.

As for Carson, I don't care if his butt falls off.

GOP presidential field in shambles, Ben Carson now in the lead in latest poll

Grab the popcorn, the GOP Clown Car Convoy™® is arriving.

Not "in the lead" - tied for first with Jeb Bush. Both getting an unimpressive 13% and neither really killing it given the margin of error in the poll.

Picture perfect example of turning not-news into news though.

Here are the numbers (top 5):
Jeb Bush... 13%
Ben Carson..13%
Scott Walker..11%
Mike Huckabee..10%
Marco Rubio..9%

Margin of error is +- 3%

Nice to see that firing prosecutors who might charge his son for torturing a dog isn't the kind of corruption people care about.

I think they should nominate another super-rich guy, or at least someone too ashamed to release his tax returns. Why bother winning?

The problem with the GOP is that they are the party that represents extremely stupid values and policies. Ben Carson is a typical republican. His fault is that he doesn't hide that fact.

He's got science credentials. That's good, right?

He has an MD. How much or little you count that as science credentials is a separate issue. MD's seems to very frequently not result in high degrees of science literacy .

Tried to get a rise from Boehner?

I'm sure he knows plenty of science, based on his education and professional experience. I wonder if his demonstrations of ignorance of science are intentional political-religious stances or are signs of pure cognitive dissonance with a deep, nutty flavor.

I am quite certain he enjoys eating nuts. Nut balls too. And especially creamy nougat!!!
