Beer challenge at tam?

Will the beer challenge be based on taste or coherance after consumption and will we be allowed to eat before hand?

Having attended many a beer tasting hosted by scotts, I can tell you that as coherence decreases, taste increases, making it very difficult to fairly judge the beer as the challenge goes on. Also, eating beforehand would be wise, unless you want to start the aforementioned cascade of drunkenness more quickly. ;)

I will probably be bringing about 2 six packs worth of beer. So far it's all stouts (I'm sure this will change.) I am having a hard time finding a lot of the stuff I have been looking for since they are mostly summer beers but have managed to find a blueberry stout which should be fun.

I'll have to bring some of my favorite beer. As an added bonus it has an Evil looking label.

At the moment, it looks like I'll be bringing 4 75cl bottles (all different) and, if I can fit them in my luggage, an additional 3 33cl bottles of fruit-beers.

I'll be checking the luggage restrictions before putting all that beer in though ...

I had many Shiner Bocks on my trip to Dallas last year (it's brewed somewhere nearby, right?)

I'd love to bring some local brews (anyone ever hear of Blue Ridge, Wild Goose, or Yuengling?) but I just can't bring myself to put it in checked luggage.

Ah, yes. I've consumed many bottles of Wild Goose Amber. Don't they also make the seasonal Snow Goose? Good stuff - countless pints quaffed.

I won't be transporting any beer to TAM. My boss (AKA Wife) would have me sent to the Russian front if I attempted to stash any beer in our luggage.

I may combine the chocolate and beer challenges by drinking a chocolate stout or two. Does that count?

With this one you'll be in serious risk of winning the challenge. As I recall from the time I was in Belgium, it's an elixir of the gods.

I've never heard of that one.
I may have to sample it beforehand.

What time should we start this shindig? With the party starting at 8 and the chocolate challenge happening at 10 I would suggest opening the beer at 8:30.

I will pick up some disposable cups once I am in town so we aren't all drinking out of the same bottles.
