Basic & Gross/Current?

Mmmm, I would have expected that this would be Kumar's home ground: Belief systems. But his philosohy appears as vague as his science.

Having read through this thread I can only assume it is an attempt to pass the turin test with a ZX-81. It failed but was a brave attempt.

Kumar is a nice enough chap and a real person. He is also, alas, not all there. ;)

Just FYI, he suffers from diabetes which he treats with homeopathy, i.e. no treatment at all. His goal in life is to find some reason somewhere, somehow...one day soon...that he can shoehorn by any means into his paradigm of non-thinking that proves homeopathy works even though it doesn't. Over the years we have known him (yes, it's been years!) he has zig-zagged erratically across an ever-increasing range of potential proofs he espouses, seemingly chosen at random by playing darts blindfolded. A few years ago it was glass molecules in water. This week he is looking for God in superheterodyne sine waves. Next week...who knows! :)

You would think that his English would improve but alas,no.

Language should not be barrier to understandings. A child enven though don't have language but still can express everything to parents ot to some other dedicated person.

"Why, a four year old child could understand this... Run out and get me a four year old child, I can't make head or tail out of it."

It occurred to me - this popular urge to come to the forum and chatter in a broken nonsense language, sprinkled with misapplied & misunderstood scientific concepts and ideas, puts me in mind of the small child who puts on mummy's dress shoes, and shuffles into the lounge to start a loud role-play involving the cat, and using a nonsense language scattered with phrases picked up from mummy & daddy.

The first time, mum & dad look at each other, go all misty and say "Awww!". They kiss.

The second time, mum & dad may participate in the role-play in the hope of making it educational, or shortening it a little... It doesn't work.

The twentieth time, dad only looks up from the TV to scowl, and mum shouts "Those are my best shoes! how many times must I tell you? take them off right now!". There are tears.

Is this what we're seeing here?

A cry for attention, interaction, and maybe even... love?

But isn't that exactly what the supreme deity at the heart of all these fairy tales is supposed to provide?

Will it end in tears?

Just askin' ;)

That's no reason to believe every bit of nonsense that comes along. If you want to demonstrate that something exists, or is possible, you need to provide evidence for it.

Nonsense, Absense.. sense is still there in these term--probably as mass is there in zero rest mass. :) Keep your eyes open till.....

Patient can't diagnose it but doctor or a person in equanimity(evenness of mind) can, like a judge--not advocates fighting a case. someone most learned said, if you want to judge anyone, first you put yourself in other or take a thing from other's angle and then decide.

If I get reward expectation dopamine release benefits by keeping belief, why should I not exploit this good thing?

I think, Chidren are normally more sustainable than old ones.

Can you describe this concept of GOD? What are its significant properties?

I described it in other topic, but it is more appropriate to post here also;

Someone learned told these qualities of God;

"Amongst unlimited qualities of God, few may be enumerated-that God creates,
nurses and destroys the universe. God is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent
and Almighty, beyond description, Formless, eternal, beyond imagination, and beyond calculation.
Nobody on the earth can deny such qualities.God is only one who creates the universe and no other can create the universe except God..
He who is not indulged in any sorrows/sufferings, in any kind of deed
and result thereof, He is supreme in souls and is called
God, whereas, soul is indulged in all the said matters according to
deeds done in previous, and in the present life. So this is also a difference
between God and souls and therefore soul can never be God based on the different
qualities. The deeds of God of creation, nursing, and destruction of
universe are eternal, natural, and automatic
God is a reason to create the universe like Parents are
the reason to give birth to a child. God has all powers
and is independent. Not God but only His powers are enough to control, create,
nurse, destroy the universe.God is everywhere, i.e., lives/resides in every atom of the universe.God has been defined as Purush i.e., Who has complete
knowledge and Himself He is complete in all respects. God is alive matter..."

And it's still gibberish. You also stole that without accreditation from another website. How about a link?

The above is really the essence of any 'debate' with Kumar. They always go like this:

Kumar: Could there be ..... ?

The rest of us: [Long, carefully worded explanation of why there could not be ..... ]

Kumar: Well, till you can say your knowledge is Final & Absolute, something can be there.

We here need to know Kumar's definition of 'Final & Absolute':

Not Final & Absolute = Anything that contradicts Kumar's ideas.
Final & Absolute = Anything that can be fantasized to support Kumar's ideas.

For instance, Kumar considers religion Final & Absolute.

Someone learned. Hmm... I sense an appeal to authority with hints of argument from ignorance.

Argument from ignorance is Kumar's core competency, much augmented by an unusually massive supply of ignorance.

Hans :p
