Application Proposal - Mental Telepathy

No I've never used the name Dargo with WA Skeptics. Shamathy is true so there is no need to consider it as a delusion.
Gentlefolk, I'm getting a tad suspicious now, and am suspecting this is all a wind-up (yanking of chain) by "Dargo". Aimed both at us and at WA Skeptics.

Either that, or "Dargo" is short of the required allocation of marbles...

Has anyone heard anything from the woman Dargo communicates with? A few words from her and I will be happy.

Otherwise she may not even exist.

There is a probability that Dargo is yanking our chains. We shall have found out by February 2007.

20 words? Two trials? I predict an honest zero as test result, if they show up at the test.

I just have a couple questions about your powers of mental telepathy because I too have these powers but they are not honed but I do notice how they come into my thought patterns. When you reading your friends mind do you keep you mind competely free of thoughts? Is what you friends thinking the first thing that pops into you mind when you not even thinking of what he might be thinking? The only reason I ask is because when it happens with me I'll usually be sitting in a room with friends just haning out and I'll start to zone out on something just because.. and then it almost seems absurd how a new line of thought enters my mind that had nothing to do with anything and then as soon as i think of that and start to say it some one says the exact same thing i was going to say. I also found out its a lot easier to do this with numbers or signs between 2 people usualy i find its the first random thought that enters my calm mind but i try to never second guess it cause then im usualy wrong.

Have you tried to test your "mental telepathy" in a series of trials?

Would you be willing to test them online, Deranged1986?

No I'm not reading my friends mind. Our minds are linked. And no our thoughts dont need to be still (free of thought) to communicated. We communicate all the time, I know she is communicating to me since it's like someone standing next to you. If they start talking, you know.

Have you tested yourself in the exact way that the skeptic orgs are going to test you? How do you know that what you're hearing is what she is sending you?

He certainly has applied and here's his e mail:

I'm writing concerning, "Extreme Atheists Two Million Dollar Challenge for
proof of extraordinary powers".

Claim: I Claim to be able to mentally send thoughts to my friend, also my
friend is able to send back thoughts. The thoughts are in the form of normal
conversational thought, that is it's like normal conversation except it's
thought.

Proposed test: Put both my friend and myself in a sealed room. Provide both my
friend and myself with one sheet of words and allow us to write down exactly
what is written on each others sheets.

Equipment for the tests: Two sheets of words, two pens and two blank sheets of
paper.

Test protocol: We will achieve 100% accuracy on what ever is written on the
sheets.

I don't see the point in making this test procedure overly complicated as there
is no need. We possess what could easily be regarded as mental telepathy
although we have chosen to call the ability shamathy.

I hope this proposal finds the right people quickly and justly.

Best Regards,
Matt ****** & Sharee *****.

Let's see:

JREF $US1M
EA $NZ2M
AS $A100k

Total - Australian dollars to be awarded upon display of shamathy = $2.6M

Should be enough to kick yourself off in life nicely.

I haven't read this thread yet, but I will now. I note that applicant Matt appears to be a computer support operative. My strong suspicion is that he is going to attempt using an electronic device. I have advised that he will be submitted to tests to confirm that he doesn't have an electronic device in use. Luckily, that's our specialist subject with EA having a PhD level Electronics Engineer available.

Zep, I take it you're close to AS. I'm quite happy to go along with a preliminary test done in WA under their auspices, however, I would like an observer along for at least one party. (assuming it ever gets that far)

I'll come back with more.

One last p.s. I don't know whether anyone's noticed, but the first syllable of "shamathy" is "sham".

Hmmmm.

How do you know that what you receive from your friend is what he sends? Also this thread is very similar to this one Sent in my application today.
Ah, it's all coming back to me, I saw you handling it and left you to it.

The thread mentioned has to be the same guy. I see he's denied it, but TWO male/female telepaths with almost identical posts?

I can't see it being a troll so much, he has definitely applied to EA.

I do note the evasion and already one lie chalked up - I do have an "affidavit" becoming, "I don't have an affidavit".

Hmmmm.

Later, when Matt and Sharee tell their grandchildren about this, "shamathy" will be a punchline, the icing on the cake, le coup de grace: "Can you believe anyone ever bought this?"

(Note: "Sh" = first two letters of Sharee; "am" = first two letters of Matt, backwards. Ding.
Anagrams of their names: Heart mates. But also: Shame treat.)

sha = first 3 letters of sharee
mat = first 3 letters of matt
Much simpler and 'cuter' than letter reversal :p

Looking forward to this test if it happens. Good luck dargo.

And finally, a conspiracy theory was born!
Did you notice that in that site (the FAQs explain that it is an RPG game for 14 to 18 years old) Shamathy is the name of a horse?
Pure coincidence, IMO (1000000000 monkeys typing Shakespeare etc). Could reconsider if Matt's real surname is Italian. That would make the connection with role playing in Italy much more significative.

So...

Not so much a gee-up or an attempted scam, but more the honest delusions of a couple of kids who have played too much D&D stuff?

Incidentally, I'm not "close" to AS, I simply happen to know a few of the people from there. Poster "Richard" is actually involved directly with them.

Certainly a coincidence. Google for Matt + his surname returns one link to the company he works for on the help desk.

Zep - thanks, I'll get in contact with him.

Looking at his protocol he can't fail.

When he and his partner are to be placed in the sealed room, make sure to tell them "no cheating" before you leave them in there.

I wasn't aware that JREF paid out on successful completeion of other tests, btw. I'm assuming that The Atheist is wrong there.

Of course it doesn't, but if the shamaths pass the test at Australian Sceptics, they'd be a shoo-in for JREF and EA's millions.

Funny how Matty's gone all silent since we all offered him a test, eh?

You'd think he'd be rushing along to claim his sponduliks.

My vote of attempted electronic fraud's looking extra at this stage.

If EA is able to setup a test in WA before the Australian Sceptics test, we'll be there.
