A collection of slogans spotted at the Feb 15th anti-war protests

Which one is your favourite?

I did have lots more, but I think these are the better ones. Less expletives too.

i.e.
- 'Make Tea, not War'
- 'Down with this sort of thing'
- 'Flutemakers against the war - Vivaldi not Violence'!
- 'F*@k off Bush You C@%t'
- 'BUSH AND BLAIR SITTING IN A TREE K.I.S.S.I.N.G/K.I.L.L.I.N.G'
- 'George Bush Smells Of Poo',
- 'Whack Your Sack, No War In Iraq - Masturbate For Peace'
- 'Gulf Sale'
- '24 hour peaceful people'
- 'Mancs against Tanks'
- Front: pic of Bush's face with caption, 'Nasty Bush'. Back: pic of a
lady's front bottom with 'Nice Bush'.
- 'Whatever'.
- A women holding a banner up with a merkin (pubic wig) attached and text saying 'The only Bush I trust is my own'
- 'What the f*@k is going on'
- 'Dave says NO to war'
- 'It's amazing what a man will do for Bush'
- 'Sex Workers of the World Unite against War!'
- 'Tony Blair is Really Annoying'
- 'Grannies And Grandads Against The War'
- 'Dykes In Black Against The War'
- 'Hell Spawn Are In The White House'
- 'We're not very chuffed about this'
- 'Don't Be So Silly'
- 'Sad Git Spent Valentine's Day Making This Banner'
- 'Empty Warhead' (caption superimposed on pic of Bush)
- 'blessed are the cheesemakers'
- 'Masturbate for Peace! Give Bush the finger'.
- 'Bush is a thicket'
- 'Don't attack Chirac'
- 'stick it up your dirty bush'
- 'Drop Acid, not bombs'
- 'NO I DON'T WANT TO BUY A WHISTLE'
- 'Dubya, ye fecker' (at Dublin protest)
- 'Pre-emptive impeachment' (Houston)
- 'Miss! They copied my dossier'
- Bearded guy holding up a '◊◊◊◊ men with beards' banner
- 'George Bush has a small PENIS'
- 'Gardeners For Peace banner'
- 'Fluff Not Flak'
- 'WAR? Never. PEACE? Clever. POETRY? Forever!'
- Tony Blair - walk with US, Not the US
- 'Smoke Bush, not Iraq'
- 'We shaved our pubic hair: Read our lips: No Bush'
- Fight plaque not Iraq' (on a big toothbrush)
- 'Go Solar, not Ballistic'
- 'Tony Blair Don't Be a Puppet to a Muppet'
- 'Clotted cream not ruptured spleen - Cornish ravers against the war'
- 'Down with this sort of thing' (on picture of plane dropping bombs),
- 'America: shave your bush'
- 'Queer pagans against the war'
- 'Hedgehogs for peace'
- 'Legalise cannabis. OOPS WRONG DEMO'

Did I miss out any?

A nice song

Sung to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands" Sing it, tape it, blast it out loud:

If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq.
If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq.
If the terrorists are frisky,
Pakistan is looking shifty,
North Korea is too risky,
Bomb Iraq.

If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq.
If we think that someone's dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Let's look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions,
Bomb Iraq.

It's pre-emptive non-aggression, bomb Iraq.
To prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq.
They've got weapons we can't see,
And that's all the proof we need,
If they're not there, they must be there,
Bomb Iraq.

If you never were elected, bomb Iraq.
If your mood is quite dejected, bomb Iraq.
If you think Saddam's gone mad,
With the weapons that he had,
And he tried to kill your dad,
Bomb Iraq.

If corporate fraud is growin', bomb Iraq.
If your ties to it are showin', bomb Iraq.
If your politics are sleazy,
And hiding that ain't easy,
And your manhood's getting queasy,
Bomb Iraq.

Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq.
For our might knows not our borders, bomb Iraq.
Disagree? We'll call it treason,
Let's make war not love this season,
Even if we have no reason,
Bomb Iraq.

Interesting... In the picture of the 3 girls at the bottom, one is holding a sign about "freeing Palestine", that was printed by socialist groups. Nice to see people using one forum (war against Iraq) to push other agendas. (Its also good to know who is behind organizing many of the protests.)

As for the picture of the riot police... well, not all of these 'peace protests' have been peaceful. Its good to see the police willing to exercise control to keep things in order.

Interesting pictures, Tony. Here's my evaluation:

One sign says, "Protect Islamic Property Rights Against Western Imperialism!" with a drawing of what I guess is a woman in a burqa, although it's not at all clear. I guess this person is not educated enough to realize that women in Iraq don't wear burqas, and doesn't know that under Saddam's rule, horrible though it is, women have more rights than in any neighboring Islamic country.

The next sign says, "Communism Has Only Killed 100 Million People, Let's Give it Another Chance." I assume this is one of those dittoheads who calls everyone who disagrees with him about war a communist. Therefore, for example, Congressman Ron Paul of your home state of Texas is a communist.

Another sign says, "Except for Ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, and Communism, War Has Never Solved Anything." I suppose war has helped put an end to Nazism in Germany and slavery in the U.S., although slavery was abolished nearly everywhere else without war. However, people from Spain might want to know exactly what war put an end to Franco's rule. And I would really like to know exactly what war ended communism - so far as I know, the Soviet Union and Eastern European communist regimes fell without any war, and there are still a few communist states around.

Finally, a sign says, "Saddam Only Kills His Own People. It's None of Our Business!" I greatly appreciate this admission that Saddam had nothing whatsoever to do with the World Trade Center attacks or any other terrorism against the U.S. By posting it here, I assume that you also agree with this.

When I saw those pictures, I assumed they were from pro-war protestors, who were making fun of the anti-war protestor signs.

They most certainly are, but that won't stop the rabid anti-peacers now will it?

The signs in the photos posted by Tony are satirical...demonstrating absurdity by being absurd, if you will...

Lighten up a bit, Saturn...

Everywhere I go, I see hand-made signs in people's front yards. Most of them say, "NO WAR" or "ANOTHER FAMILY FOR PEACE."

A few say, "WE SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT," or "STAND STRONG AGAINST IRAQ."

If I had a front yard (I currently live in an apartment), I'd have a sign that said, in huge proud letters, "AMBIVALENT."
