You forgot the "!" or are you saying your ancestors were ****ing apes?
(Looks like I'll have to explain another joke to Hypernicus...)
OK, the first one was because you said, "The universe is a hologram." BronzeDog replied, "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." and you responded with a nasty comment, obviously not getting the joke.
This was an allusion to the
holographic doctor in the TV series Star Trek:Voyager. Whenever he was activated, he would respond with that phrase. And hence my follow-up, "I'm a doctor, not a logician!", which is a throwback to the original Star Trek series. Doctor McCoy would often blurt "I'm a doctor, not a (whatever)!". In fact, I think he did say "not a magician!" in one episode. An homage, and a play on words.
I admit I was reaching with the visual rebus above, but after seeing "A=A!" so many times I read it as "A equals A prime". Otherwise I don't know what the exclamation point was for. So the visual shows Fonzie from the old TV show Happy Days, in his classic pose where he always said "Aaaaay!", then an "equals" with a font resembling the U.S. Constitution, and a gorilla (ape) reading a book of poetry (rhyming).
Therefore: "
Aaaaay equals ape-rhyme".
OK, maybe it's a long way to go for a joke, and I understand there may be some cultural ignorance, but I'll be dipped if I explain one again...
