I'M IN THE PHONEBOOK! I'M SOMEBODY!!!
McCain and Obama roast each other.

McCain
"Maverick I can do, but Messiah is above my paygrade."

Part 1

Part 2

Obama
"...it's often been said that I share politics of Alfred E. Smith and the ears of Alfred E. Newman.

Part 3

Part 4

I saw these speeches live on TV and it was very enjoyable, and I admit, I wish that the entire campaign could have been this lighthearted and respectful. I think they both showed they can be magnaminous and joke about their own shortcomings and percieved shortcomings. Great stuff. It really makes me long for a more mature and classy political environment.

I want to see Obama & McCain get into a fist-fight to the death for the honor of a night of raunchy sex with Sarah Palin. But then, I'm a freak :D

Incidentally, I don't know who'd win in such a fight. Obama's younger and has the reach, but despite his age I'm sure McCain knows some nasty moves. Could be pretty interesting.

Loved McCain's speech. But I couldn't help but notice it really sounded like a gracious concession speech.

cosigned. I gained a tremendous amount of respect for Sen. McCain just for that 1 minute in the 2nd part. It's a breath of fresh air for people who are sick and tired of the petty smears from both sides.

I've been looking around the net for a complete transcript to link to (in case the videos get pulled), and it saddens me to see how many people can not admit that they were both funny.

They were both funny. Actually I'm an Obama supporter and McCain was a bit funnier. More natural.

Obama had some good lines and I genuinely laughed at them, but he seemed to be relieved to get the comedy part out of the way and move on to more serious stuff. McCain had a lot of good ones and was bringing down the house. He seemed to be having fun with it. And I think like McCain suggested, Obama could lose some swing states over this ;)

Yeah, McCain did seem more comfortable, might be partly because this is his second time doing this.

Hell, that's the McCain I remember. The likable one with an actual sense of humor. Where has that McCain been?

Where has that McCain been? Same place as the gentlemanly, charming, candid, funny-as-hell Bob Dole once was: candidate handler prison.

Gosh, I've MISSED that John McCain! I'd so love for him to [again] take a leadership role in the Senate (after he loses on Nov. 5th) to "reach across the aisle" and work actively with the Democrats to help the country move forward. We need some healing in this nation after all the bi-partisan campaign bloodshed of the last few months.
