Also IMHO *Ouch, stop hitting me* far more people would understand "DNA" than "deoxyribonucleic acid".Your point is well taken, but I think there's a distinction between technical jargon and Internet slang; I was referring mostly to the latter. I wouldn't expect a biologist to write out "deoxyribonucleic acid" 50 times in a technical paper;

Actually, NOLA is the acronym for New Orleans. However, most people on the board use NO. I used to live there, so I feel compelled to point it out.
