Aboriginal Australians, Pacific Islanders carry DNA of unknown human species

'The lack of copy numbers is a major fault with 23+.

My interest is that two of my haplogroups are Asian- Mito, and being a direct male descendant of Genghis Khan. And I am diabetic.

But lemme think, from home brewing knowledge- Fructose and glucose are monoglycerides? Fructose, called levulose too, is make with a left handed twist compared to glucose. Sucrose (sugar) is one glucose and one fructose. (Maltose is two glucoses.) So it isn't sucrose vs fructose, it's a matter of breaking the connection between the glucose and the fructose that makes it sucrose. Which takes an enzyme in living things. So,the E. Asian mod would be that sucralase?
OT- diglycerides of fructose/fructose are called fructans. Yeast can't break them down. It takes a whole nuther species- to make Tequila out of cactus juice.

Highlight- yes. And disaccharides aren't absorbed well by the intestine. That is why I presume that the change in sucrose metabolism referred to in your cited diagram would most likely involved sucrase expression, secretion, or function (because the downstream metabolic pathways are mostly the same).

The story of sucrose is interesting because both glucose and fructose, the products of sucrose hydrolysis, are very common naturally, yet some consider sucrose to be particularly bad for one's health. But some consider high fructose corn syrup to also be particularly bad. So maybe fructose is a villain, or the mix, or ???

Sucrose is broken down in the small intestine by sucrase into glucose and fructose. While the glucose directly goes into the bloodstream and serves as instant energy to the body's cells, fructose has to go through the liver to be metabolized (into glucose? or into glycogen? I forgot that part). Also, the body has no sensors for fructose levels, only for glucose (which, e.g., trigger insulin production). So pure fructose or high fructose corn syrup (which has a 45/55 glucose/fructose ratio) might be bad for your liver.

Maybe the unknown Pacific Islander's DNA is the same as Donald Trumps? :D

Trumps orangev hair makes me wonder if his Dad ever had sex with a parrot while on duty in the Pacific. :D

ps: I voted for Carrot Top. Just thought I would get in the first digs.
