A thread for good news

Well, this may not be political, or good news for cat haters, but it made me tear up:

Although I’m not eligible to vote over there, I did go apple picking.

That’s technically the same, right?
Depends. Did you know that picking the apples was individually meaningless, but the responsibility of the collective, of which you are a part, to pick? And were there remarkably ancient people around who assumed you were just as befuddled as they are by these newfangled electronic apple picking machines?

It took me awhile to find this thread again but here's some good news, especially for folks who love dogs and of course children...

Hero dog leads officers straight to missing 3-year-old

A neighborhood dog helped authorities in Louisville, Kentucky, find a missing 3-year-old boy last month in a dramatic rescue seen in newly released body camera footage, according to police.
More than half a dozen officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded on Jan. 7 after receiving a report of a missing young child. They launched an urgent search on foot, with a drone and helicopter overhead as they tried to locate the child, the department said in a social media post Monday.
Sure enough, the dog led officers straight to a car and sat near the back bumper. The child was inside the vehicle unharmed and was quickly reunited with his family, police said...

This may not technically be considered good news per se, but It's still worth keeping in mind if you ever lose your dog in the woods or far from home or maybe anywhere really...
