(We cannot actually do this as far as I know, it's just a scenario. Would it be a reasonable start for an application? Gotta be worth a shot, with $1mill at stake)

Me and my wife are telepathic.

I can look at cards from a standard deck (your deck is fine) and she can tell which card, with a success rate way beyond chance.
This works up to 20m range, even with walls in between, no prob.

We're both reluctant to have body cavity searches or appear naked on film. Can you organise that part with scanning devices - or at least by doctors in private - and then have us in hospital gowns or some other clothes provided by yourselves?

Neither of us needs spectacles or hearing aids etc to do this.
Neither of us has implants or prosthetics or artifical bits around us at all, apart from a number of tooth fillings each.

GlennB, please define your "success rate way beyond chance".

Have you tried it at distances of 20+ meters?

We have had telepathy tests before, and, at least for the preliminary test, no such invasive searches were required. Go ahead and apply.

Although I wouldn't apply until you find out if you actually CAN do it, so as to not waste anyone's time. Remember, you can only retest once a year - not once an hour until you get it right. And it has to be repeatable in the final test - getting it right once by luck alone won't get you anywhere.
 
A test I would try is to sit with your backs facing each other, as close as you want. Or you could blind fold her. This would make sure she wasn't reading into your physical body language, and could only rely on hearing or smells, and obviously intuition.
