Why do you skeptics have a problem with cause and effect?

Surely a physical law of cause and effect, was at the origins of science leading to the concept of a predictable mechanical universe? ….. at least until theories got a bit less predictable with Darwin’s evolution, chaos theory, quantum theories, etc. But it’s still a physical law, every object in the room around you was put there by some previous cause (whether known or not …. predictable or not) ….most often the cause is the wife
7. The Law of Cause and Effect: There are no coincidences, nothing happens by chance. Everything is a cycle. For every effect, there is a cause, and every cause is an effect in something else. ''Every Cause Has Its Effect; Every Effect Has Its Cause; Everything Happens According To The Law; Chance Is A Name For The Law Not Recognized; The Are Many Planes Of Causation, But Nothing Escapes The Law.
I think
‘nothing happens by chance’ is a very misleading wording of the theoretical spiritual law of cause and effect, this implies life is mapped out
‘fate’ .. but that is most probably not what was meant by this belief system originally …..
You have probably heard the age old debate between those who believed something was suppose to happen in their lives (fate) and those who think life is complete freewill ……
is life ‘freewill or fate’? ….. this law says it’s both. It simply meant cause = freewill, effect = fate … a very simple law…. so it could have been called the law of freewill and fate instead. The law meant the only freewill we have is how we react to our fate (created by our previous freewill).
…. The law was a means of trying to get people to create positive things. This law was also a deterrent to humans who thought they could lie , steal or commit injustices upon others and as long as they don’t get caught there is no future adverse effects. Similarly most non religious people think if they do good without a reward or without being seen, it is worthless …. But not according to this law (if it exists). If the soul did good it would experience good things in the future (i.e. heaven like) and if it chose not good things it would experience not pleasant things in future.
According to those type of beliefs, upon retuning to other dimensions those who had been good found themselves in good circumstances and those who hadn’t found themselves in less pleasant dimensions…..the purpose of earthly life was to evolve and test the soul, it was far too easy to be good in other (non earth) dimension because the consequences of spiritual/ethical/moral actions seemingly brought very obvious outcomes ….. and also telepathy was supposedly stronger in other non physical dimensions, so cheating was known by others …..upon physical birth, the soul’s memory (telepathy, etc.) was blocked by the physical brain …. And a sort of virtual reality game began where you cannot remember the past because it spoiled the souls struggle to evolve through trial and error.
The spiritual law of cause and effect is fairly compatible with evolution (Ancients had the concept of human spiritual evolution, long before Darwin’s physical evolution) …. . It meant the soul was evolving through trial and error (Christianity abandoned evolution of soul after 325AD and it became a heresy) … so instead of Darwin’s survival of the fittest, it meant the survival of the most pleasant/good …..because creating unpleasant/evil had unpleasant/evil future consequences, therefore ultimately life forms (souls) chose to have pleasant/good future outcomes … and life was the evolution through time from ignorance/chaos creating evil ….. to eventually intelligence/order creating good.
…….. if such a law exists it would suggest aliens (if they ever reach earth) being more advanced would probably be more ethical than humans ….. not abducting people with pointed instruments

So a believer in cause and effect spiritual law would probably question alien abductions … because intelligence = more likely to be good, evil was more unevolved….
Of course hard sceptics will reject those ancient ideas (I’m open minded to such ideas) …. But I think many sceptics will still accept the law of cause and effect not just as a physical law but perhaps a mental/emotional concept. Much of our mental processes are our subconscious mind (effects) programmed by our conscious mind (cause). Every thought is possibly the evolution of a previous idea, thought or mental conditioning. Our ability to understand now is based upon the quality of our past programming…. That is in essence what the law of cause and effect meant.
(.............. and no, this law has nothing in particular to do with Bin Laden or fundamentalist muslims

...... the believers in spiritual cause and effect (a) would not commit crimes that rebound upon themselves later (b) They believe justice works out eventually, no need for wars, they believe only good brings good
