The reticulated python has never been known to exceed 32 to 33 feet in length so if this measurement is correct this would be a extraordinary find...............

I placed this in this section because there is a lot of lore attached to really great big snake stories and this one may prove to be no exception and should be followed to scientific certainty before complete acceptance.

Perhaps the snake is possessed by Satan...

Nothing like that can be conceived without boring the image of Satan...

(Hey, as long as we're on the paranormal board...)

Very cool. Didn't the Bronx Zoo have a long standing reward offered for any snake longer than 30" (?)

Wow, that's twice as long as the snake that my neighbor says chased her up the street!

I wounder if there are many more like that out there

The Indonesian newspaper Republika said the snake, which was caught last year but only recently put on public display, eats three or four dogs a month.
Dogs?! Couldn't they feed it goats or woo woos or something else besides dogs?

What's wrong with feeding it dogs?
Some things are just wrong, so very wrong.

Besides, it would much rather enjoy a nice plump pig or baby seal.

That's a bit over 14.6 metres long, and weighs in at 445.88 kilograms for those of us who have caught up with the 21st century. (That's right I went there.)

If true I wouldn't want to carry that thing anywhere  It weighs almost half a ton (metric). Good for a pet though, if you needed to dispose of a body, a chinsaw to half the meal, then a few weeks later all you have is bones, grind them up and mix it with your blood and bone mix, onto the lawn, and BAM, scott free.

I doubt this snake needs anything cutting up before it can eat it! There have been cases of people being eaten whole by much smaller snakes. Why bother risking the bloodsplattered clothing which could incriminate you after using the chainsaw? I suppose it could be fun. . .

. . no, I didn't say that. Just erase that from your memory!

Don't worry, they were the dogs that were too rancid to make into their version of boshintang.
What do you have against goats?
Do you feel sheepish after eating Spring Lamb?

The Guardian sent in a reporter with a tape measure.

Here's his story:

Rats:(

On the bright side, from the Guardian article:

"Curious gawpers have to pay a scruffy employee 2,500 rupiah (17p) to enter the muddy enclosure, which is also home to a few mangy-looking monkeys chained to bamboo poles and two slothful mongrels that would most appropriately be named Fragrant's Breakfast and Fragrant's Lunch, as three or four canines a month are Fragrant's diet."

Hahahahahahahahaahaha
