2024 Republican Primary

Mike Pence seems to be interested in running. How dumb can you get?

God owes him one for his blind, insane, suicidal loyalty to a lying, cheating, atheist adulterer.

If he gets the Nomination, that's proof enough of the existence of God for me.

Who is the richest?

Well we know from experience now that wealth is a fabulous indicator of trustworthiness, good decision making, mental stability and compassion. How could being supported by a billionaire be bad?

I actually LOL typing that.

Since Musk's takeover of Twitter, firing thousands of employees, forcing them to take an "extreme loyalty" pledge or lose their jobs, etc. I fully expect his approval rating to drop sharply. This is the latest I could find on his approval rating from a month ago, before his mass firing occurred:
Now the dust has settled from his initial Twitter takeover news, we’ve undertaken a new study reviewing over 78,000 tweets from the last 12 months discussing Mr. Musk. These tweets were then put through sentiment analysis tools to work out whether each user likes or dislikes him.

From our analysis of over 78,000 recent tweets, America generally does not feel particularly positive about Elon Musk.

Overall, 38.2% of posts about Elon Musk are negative. And only 19.2% are positive toward the tech entrepreneur.

Problem with statistics like that is that twitter users may not be representative of the population as a whole (I suspect the demographics are shifted younger than the average voting population). There may be a significant number of people who just don't use twitter but still are familiar enough with musk and might listen to what he says in other media.

There's a problem with any poll statistics; we learned that in 2016 and this month.

Also, people who want to complain are more vocal than people who are content. "Twitter is not real life" applies in this sense.

I don't know about that. A lot of his current press is negative. He might be a year away from everyone being tired of him. He's currently being sued for giving himself a $56 billion payout from Tesla. If the current keeps getting pulled back, the GQP will regret openly embracing him.

I wonder if there's going to be a backlash against billionaires in general.

Well the polls were amazingly accurate in 2016, they priced in Trumps 10 million vote head start and said Clinton would win by c. 3.5million votes, and they were right. They simply forgot the Stalinist nature of US presidential elections.

Apartheid South Africa is pretty much what MAGA Republicans think of when they talk about "the Good Old Days".
